The Lucknow Sentinel, 1978-09-20, Page 22Lacknow Sentinel, Wednesday, September 20,19711,—Page 23 Car hits train at Whitechurch railway crossing BY VALETTA EMERSON At the north end of Whitechurch there is a very treacherous railway crossing where the underbrush has grown up and the trees branched out so it is hard to see an approaching train. Another factor is that the train has no special time. It just comes along when it has work to do and many folks never are aware of it coming. On Wednesday afternoon Mrs: N. W. Bolt and her sister who live on -the former Wes Tiffin farm in, the Langside vicinity, were com- ing south into Whitechurch and they failed to get stopped for the train coming from the ,west and hit- the train, The ladies had their seat belts on and were not hurt. The car , was badly damaged. Fred Tiffin took the ladies back to their home. This is the crossing where a number of years ago Roy Huffman was killed.
