Living Achievement Day
held on Saturday, August 26,
1978 at the farm of Eldon
Brown and family. Johanna
was a member of the Kincar-
dine # 2 Trail Blazer 4-H
Homemaking Club. Congrat-
ulations Johanna.
Mr. and Mrs. James
Pentland, the former Joanne
Ritchie, were honoured with
an open reception held at the
Saltford Valley Hall on
Friday, August 25.
A large crowd from this
area attended the Official
Opening of the Lucknow
Community Centre held on
Saturday, August 26. Games
of ball were played between
Westfield and Dungannon
and between Lucknow and
North Ashfield. Following
the opening ceremonies, en-
tertainment was provided by
the .Lucknow Concert Band.
Music for dancing was sup-
plied by Special Appoint-
ment from 9 until 1. 'Free
swimming was enjoyed at the
swimming -pool.
Congratulations to Donna
Frayne daughter of Mr". and
Mrs. Dopald Frayne who
won the' Champion Road
Machinery Limited Scholar-
ship in the amount of
$900.00. Donna is a Grade 13
graduate of the Goderich
District Collegiate Institute
and is enrolled in the first
year General Arts course at
Kings College, London, Ont-
ario. Donald, an employee of
the Champion Roads Mach-
inery Limited is presently
hospitalized in the Alexandra
Marine and General Hospit-
al, Goderich, having recently
discovered he had diabetes.

were present at the Drennan
family reunion held at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Jim
Drennan and family on the
7th concession of Ashfield
Township on Sunday after-
noon, August 27th. Some 50
families from Windsor, Stay-
ner, Oshawa, St. Catharines,
Campbellford, Meaford,
Ashfield with 7 carloads from
Detroit, Michigan and sur-
rounding area had a wonder-
ful afternoon reminiscing
with each other and getting
acquainted for the first time
since the Drennan• reunion
held one year ago at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry
Drennan, R. R. 7 Lucknow.
Races and games were held
for the younger folk, under
the direction of Arnold and
Joe Drennan with Mary
White looking after the
prizes. A silver dollar was
presented to the newest
married couple, Mr. and
Mrs. Al Drennan, Oshawa.
Food was served smorgas-
bord style on the picnic
tables set up inside the
Drennan drive shed and on
the lawn. Plans were made
for the Drennan family
reunion to be held again next
year on the third Sunday of
August, August 26 at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Jim
Drennan.
