Contests were handed out as ,people arriv- ed. Prizes for the contests were won by Mrs. .Eva Harton and Mrs. Phyllis Harrison; Mrs. Donna Hay- den, Laurie and Linda; Mrs. Lynda McNee; Mrs. Jean Carruthers. Mrs. Mary Bere introduced Annette around the group and escorted her to a chair at the front. Miss Brenda Chisholm, Miss Dor- othy Culbert and Mrs. Kathie Stanbury sat up with the bride. The address was read by Kathie Stanbury and gifts were carried in by Laurie and Linda Hayden and Lisa Sillib. Annette thanked those present grac- iously and invited them to visit her in Goderich after her wedding,, Music was provid- ed by Misses Melody and Martha King who sang to Melody's guitar. A community shower in honour of Miss Annette Hod- ges, bride-to-be was held in the Sunday School room of Dungannon United Church 'on Thursday, August 24. The bride entered to the music of the Wedding March played by Mrs. Judy McMichael, and took her . chair at the front attended by Miss Brenda Chisholm, Miss Val- erie Wilson and Miss Doro- thy Culbert., Mrs. Kathie Stanbury as chairperson cal- led on Miss Elaine Stewart for a contest. Mrs. Carol Nivins gave a reading. The Stapleton girls, Mary Kath- erine, Maureen, Patricia and Christine, provided two en- joyable musical numbers with Christine accompanying them with the guitar. Their family presented them with a portable tele- vision set. Mrs. Johnston is i sister of Mrs. Ross McNee. Mrs. Mary Bere visited Miss Elva Harman in Strat- ford on Wednesday and attended "As You Like It" at the Festival Theatre with Miss Ruth Schmidt. Mr. and Mrs. Len Biloy, Scott, Judy and Kristin of Detroit are holidaying be- , tween a cottage at Port Albert and their farm home these past two weeks or so. Last weekend Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Pentland, Mrs. Dorothy Grange, Mr. Frank Pentland visited Don- na and Mike Carney and baby in Chatham and went on to attend the Salter picnic at Essex. Mrs. Salter is a sister' of the late Herb Pentland and celebrated her 91st birthday this summer. Some from Dungannon attended Nile United Church on Sunday morning to hear the Fordwich United Church choirresent the contata "The"Miracle Worker", which tells the life of Jesus in story and song. The pianist for the group is Mrs. Marg- aret Livermore (nee Haines) formerly of Auburn. Nile U.C.W.'held a bazaar and bake sale in the Sunday School room of Nile United Church on Wednesday, Aug- ust 23 which some Dungan- non ladies attended. Mrs. Whitely previously lived in Hamilton and before that resided in the Crewe com- munity. - to the family of Mrs. Kenneth Campbell (nee Val- erie Stevens) who died in Goderich Hospital on August 24 in her 59th year. - to the family of Elwyn Feagan of Nile who passed away in Goderich Hospital on August 23rd in his 51st year. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Bregman visited at his parents home the same day. Mrs. Ethel Holmes of Wingham spent last Wed- nesday with Mrs. Clifford Young. Mrs. Roelly de Boer and Joanne left for Holland last Thursday where they will visit with relatives. We are pleased to report that Mrs. Ernie Hanna has returned home after being a patient in Kitchener Hospital and is feeling much better. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Wraith, Debbie and Scott visited with Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Scott on Sunday. Their son Larry, who had been helping on the farm returned home with them and Debbie remained for a week's holiday with her grandparents.
