Toronto Stock- Yard Report
• Total receipts at the'oron-
to stock yards last week were
cattle, 9,700; calves, 1,574;
hogs, 6,100; sheep and
Iambs, 1,423.
Most classes and grades of
slaughter cattle were sold
under pressure as a result of
easier prices in the United
States.
Al and A2 steer prices
dropped $1.00 per cwt.
Heavy heifers held barely
steady but their regular
counterparts were slow and
hard to move.
Prices for Al and A2 steers
were $62 to $65 with sales to
$65.50 and Al and A2 heifers
were going from $58 to $62
with sales to $63.10.
D1 and D2 cows were sold
for $42 to $45, D3 and D4
cows went $40 to $43 and D5
cows were sellingfrom $35 to
$43. Bulls were sold for $48
to $52.
In replacement cattle,
steers over 800 lbs. sold for
$60 - $70; good steer calves,
500 - 700 lbs., sold for $65 -
$75. Heifers over 700 lbs.
went for $55 - $60 and heifer
calves, 500 - 700 lbs. went for
$58 - $68. '
Base price for hogs $66.50
to $77.40.
Prices for western feed
grains at the Goderich ele-
vator are western wheat,
$118.95 per tonne; western
barley, $86.90 per tonne and
western oats, $94.85 per
tonne.
Soybean meal sold for
$243.80 and corn went for
$107.00, per tonne bulk.
Local grains range from $68 -
$75 per tonne,
