Lana entertains guests at seventh birththiy party
BY VALETTA EMERSON
CHALMERS W.M.S.
Chalmers Women's Mis-
sionary Society meeting was
held August 16 at 2 p.m. at
the home of Mrs. John de
Boer. Mrs. de Boer opened
the meeting with a call to
worship poem and extended
a warm welcome to all. God's
mercies I will ever sing, was
sung with Mrs. Don Ross
pianist.
The scripture, Mark 3:1-6,
was read by Mrs. Don Ross
who also gave the medita-
tion. The Bible never encour-
aged anger. If we loose our
temper this is not good. If we
are hurt we howl but not if
we hurt others. Some people
get `angry and quit the
church, this is just being
childish. Jesus' anger is one
of love. Today we should
hold back anger and present
only righteous anger.
Mrs. Bill Rintoul led in
prayer. Mrs. Harvey Os-
borne gave a reading, At-
tending Church. The hymn,
Fight the good fight, was
sung.
The topic, In the minority,
was given by Mrs. John de
Boer. Minority could refer to
the number or the race. No
one wants to stand alone and
be in the minority for that
takes strength. How do we
react standing alone? I am
committed to a living Christ
and stand alone as God never
sends tasks nor temptations
too great for us to bear. A
reading, Quiet Times, was
given by Mrs. Emerson. The
minutes were read by secret-
ary, Mrs. Emerson. The roll
call was answered by seven
giving a Bible verse with the
word Harvest.' The offering
was received and dedicated
by Mrs. Emerson, who also
read the correspondence.
A letter from Mrs. Nugent
informed the society of a
workshop meeting for presid-
ents, children's leaders,
youth leaders, and adult
leaders to be held September
18, 7.30 to 10 o'clock at
Teeswater. Mrs. Ross Cum-
ming informed the society of
the Fall Rally being held
October 3 at St. Andrews
Presbyterian Church, Wing -
ham. Arrangements were
made to do what was
requested. Mrs. de Boer
closed this meeting with
prayer.
The Ladies' Aid meeting
was then held with president
Mrs. John de Boer giving a
financial report of the Craft
Festival. It was decided to
buy two more glass plates for
serving lunch for the church.

with the mizpah benediction.
