Port Elgin sponsored by the Lake Huron Zone Recreation Association. The members of the

These tanned, lovely young ladies have perhaps had the most enviable of jobs in Lucknow
the past few weeks as lifeguards at the Lucknow Swimming Pool. The lifeguards are Kathy

the Lucknow. Intermediates
to a 4-1 victory over Form-
osa. The game marked the
end of the regular schedule.
Lucknow received a bye in
the first round of the playoffs
and will play the winner of
the Brodhagen-Fullarton ser-
ies.

Lad'es win playoff opener
The Lucknow Noisy Ladies
put on a fine showing in the
Huron Central Ladies Soft-
ball League this season,
finishing in third place in the
nine -team league.
The Goderich Elevators
and Clinton Housewives tied
for first place with 26 points
and a special playoff game
was played between the two
teams this week to decide
the pennant winners. • .
Swirn-a-
thon
a big
-success
The Swim-a-thon held. 'on
August 5th at the Lucknow
and District Swimming Pool
was quite a great • success.
The money raised will help to
cover the cost of heating the
pool. Many thanks to all
participants and sponsors.
The swimmers raised $1,150
in pledges.
Those swimmers complet-
ing the 50 widths for the 9
and under age group were:
Danny Gilchrist, Jamie Hum-
phrey, and Sam Murray.

in third spot with 18 points
and were followed by the
Goderich Superstars with 16
and the Goderich Sailorettes
with 12 points.
The final four teams were
bunched up as the Clinton
Sluggers finished with 8
points, Seaforth, 7; Goderich
Swingers, 6 and Joe's Girls,
4.
The Noisy Ladies grabbed
a one -game lead intheir
best -of -three opening round
playoff series with a convin-
cing 16-5 victory over the
Goderich Sailorettes, Mon-
day.
The ladies will be looking
to wrap up the series in two
straight games when they
play the second'. game of the
series in Goderich Thursday.
The rest of the playoff
schedule has not been final-
ized - but will be posted in
Beckers and Mehans.
The Dungannon B ladies softball team were recent
consolation . winners and team captain Valerie Park and coach
Greg Park accept the consolation trophy from Ashfield
