Tractor accident
results in injuries
BY LYNNE NICOLSON
Unlike last week, there
were many things happening
this week that kept Holyrood-
onians from getting bored:
Many people will have been
watching the Commonwealth
Games on television and are
probably proud of the way
they ended for Canada. We
had a very good team . of
athletes that we could be
proud, but you don't have to
look that far as we also have
a group of youngsters that
would also make you proud.
They are those children that
particiapted in the swim-a-
thon last week. They will be
collecting the money that
they rightfully earned and
which will be going towards
heating the pool.
Many • from the area at-
tended the dance put on by
the Ripley Junior Farmers.
There was a very big turnout
owing to the excellent enter-
tainment by the Good Broth-
ers. I am sure everyone had .a
good time.

The Ontario Ministry of Energy, in co-operation with the Ministries
of Agriculture and Food, Natural Resources, Industry and Tourism
and Ontario Hydro, has been evaluating the feasibility of using
warm (40°C) water for agricultural and aquacultural purposes.
Based on the positive findings of an engineering study, the
results ofwhich were .publicly released at the end of 1977, the.
Ministry of. Energy now invites interested potential users and
investors to submit plans for the development of .greenhouse and
fish farm facilities, utilizing the warm water which is part of the
moderator cooling system' in Ontario Hydro's Nuclear Power Devel-
opments.
Proposals may be submitted for all or part of the following:
1) the direct utilization of the warm water by growers in:
Via) commercial greenhouse operation
(b) commercial fish farm operation
2) based on warm water heating technology, the
establishment and/or financing of a commercial "scale
development capable of accommodating more than one
type of user or more than one grower
3) the ownership, financing, construction, management
and operating of a hot water transportation system.
Additional information and copies of the Engineering Study to-
gether with the Project Development Criteria may be obtained
from the Ontario Energy Corporation, 56 Wellesley Street West,
4th Floor, Toronto, OA 2B7. A refundable deposit of $25.00,
payable to the Treasurer of Ontario is required for a set of such
documents. This invitation for outline proposals and preliminary
designs provides only thatall submissions will be considered and
assessed in accordance'with the Project Development Criteria.
Submissions must be received by the Ontario Energy Corpora-
tion .by noon, September 29, 1978.

On Saturday the 12th a few
from this area attended the
annual Fergus Highland
Games. There were many
things to see such as
-Highland Dancing competi-
tions. Men's Caber Tossing
as well as other heavy weight
sports and of course the very
popular mass pipe and and
drums. There were also
various booths selling Scot-
tish items and a midway for
the younger and more daring
older generation.
We have two area people
in hospital because of
illness. We would like to
wish little Shauna Nickel,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D.
Nickel, R. R. 3 Holyrood, a
speedy recovery. Shauna is
suffering from whooping
cough and is in Wingham
and District Hospital. Our
second invalid is Olive Han-
na, who is recovering from
an operation. She is at St.
Mary's in Kitchener and we
hope that she will be up and
around soon.
A bit . of excitement occur-
red in Holyrood on Saturday
the 12th, though it was not of
the most desirable"type. Mr.
C. Johnston was driving his
tractor and pulling a load of
grain when his tractor tip-
ped, spilling the grain, and
setting', his tractor on fire.
Mr. Johnston was not admit-
ted into hospital.
Returning home this week
from their trip to England
were Mr. and Mrs. F. Page. I
hope the trip home was not
too tiring and that their stay
in England was pleasant.
Well the Kinloss Girrs'
Baseball team played their
last game of the season
against Dungannon Thurs
day, the 106. They were
competing for the consola-
tion prize but were not able
to clinch it as , they lost two
very close games. Awards
were presented to the teams
and Denise King was given
the . trophy for the most
congenial player. I think
these girls deserve a warm
congratulations as they did
very well for their first year
together. .
Visiting this week with Mr.
E. Hanna and family is Tom
Willits who is a nephew of
Mrs. Hanna. I hope he has
an enjoyable stay.
That about wraps things
up for this week except for
the thought for the week
which was left out last time
because of lack of space.
Thought for the week:
Keep your fears to yourself,
Share your courage with
others.
