An individual appraisal of your physical fitness can be done when the Ontario Fitness Van comes to Lucknow August 22. The test takes approximately 1'/2 hours to complete and costs $12.00. As well as the test Diane is doing in the above picture, there are tests which assess muscular strength and endurance, flexibility and. a determination of percentage body fat and ideal body weight. Lucknow Sentinel, Wednesday, August 16, 11978 —Page 19 Noisy Ladies win medal in Port Elgin Excellent team effort and high team spirit earned the Noisy Ladies Silver Medals this past weekend in' Port Elgin. The tournament was won by the Lake Huron Zone •Recreation Association for Port Elgin's annual' Sport's - fest. There were sixteen teams entered "' for the Ladies' Softball from Owen Sound, Southampton, Port Elgin, Kincardine, Goderich, Luck - now, Listowel and Elmwood. Lucknow's first game was Friday night against the Bruce Inn, Kincardine. After five innings of play Lucknow defeated Kincardine 15 to 4. The Port Elgin Dunlops were no match for Lucknow who won - 16-1,-- ,> Saturday morning. The next game Was not until Sunday ,morning when .'.the Noisy Ladies met the Ontario Hydro Selecfs: This game had a time lirnitf of an hour and a half with Lucknow ahead 11 to 8; Lucknow at bat, bases loaded and none out. Now the Championship was in sight. But first the team had to win a game against the Goderich Elevat- ors. The two teams seemed evenly matched and at the top of the fifth there was no score. Once again super team effort paid off and Lucknow won by narrow 6 - 5. The Noisy Ladies had finally hit the big time The AUGUST opposition was Bert s Bean- ery from Port Elgin, also undefeated. This was defin- itely the most exciting game. The score was tied after 6172 innings at 16 .with Bert's Beanery having last bat. They got the_ needed rtin 'to win the Gold Medal -And the Lucknow Noisy Ladies won the Silver. Every team member de- serves mention for , their superb playing during the tournament. Team members include: " Sherry Boak and Katy Mawhinney, catchers; Janice Rutherford and Lor- raine MacDonald, pitchers; Arlene Turner and Wendy Gerster, first base; Nancy ,.Cameron, second base; Pat Boak, short stop; Bonnie Taylor, third base; Marjorie Hackett, right field; Barb Helm, centre field; Lori Pegg and. Ann Inglis, left field; Judy Draper (on maternity leave),, captain.. Superb coaching also des- erves mention , so 'many thanks to Eric Taylor and Steve 'Hackett. Pat Boak, Sherry Boak, Nancy Cameron and , Barb Helm will be representing the team in the All-Star game in Clinton on Friday night. There will not be a home game Thursday, August 17th as playoffs begin the follow- ing week. ,P.S. "Granny" Helm hit another home run.
