beef at the home of his
brother Ken and wife Joy at
their farm on the 6th of
Kinloss, south of Holyrood.
The reception dinner featur-
ing this delicious meat was
held on Saturday and Sunday
with over 500 attending.
Wally and Kerry have plans
for a honeymoon in Switzer-
land. All friends in the Ripley
area wish them the best.
The past weekend seemed
to be a time of coming home
to Ripley after the Civic
Holiday vacation. Among
those returning were Carol
and Donnie Fludder, Tammy.
and Jason on Thursday
evening, and Elsie and Ossie
Forrester on Friday evening.
Visiting in Ripley, last
Wednesday and Thursday
with their aunt, Miss Christ-
ena Robertson, were Mr. and
Mrs. Ross Ford of Coburg
who made the trip on their
motorcycle.
Recently Mrs. Irene Liddle
was_ able to return to the
Huron and Kinloss Municip-
al Telephone office after
being ill for some time. Her
assistant, Kerry Hodgins,
filled in while Irene was
away. Now Irene will do the
same while Kerry is .on her
honeymoon,
On Saturday afternoon,
August 5,, Mary N'eedham's
wedding was held in Ripley.
The motor tour of Ripley's
streets after the ceremony
was colourful. It even featur-
ed an antique car in good
running condition and it
transported the happy bride
and groom - something not
seen in similar tours.
Last week Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Forster, concession 8,
east of Ripley, started on a
motor tour of Northern
Ontario to Kenora.
On Monday evening of this
week, August 14, the Ripley
Agricultural Society met to
make further plans for the
fair on Saturday, September
30. President Jack Farrell of
concession 12, was in charge
of the meeting.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald
Anderson of Waterford spent
the long Civic Holiday week-
end visiting with her mother,
Mrs. W. J. Mackay at Huron
Villa in Ripley and also
visiting with other relatives
in, the area.
The annual Scott reunion
for the descendants of the
late John Scott and Janet
Monilaus was held at the
Tiverton Community Centre
on Sunday, July -30, 1978.
After partaking of a bountiful
noon luncheon, everyone
enjoyed the program and
sports which was in charge of
the Kerslake family, It was
decided to have the 1979
reunion at the same place
and time.
On Tuesday evening, Aug-
ust the 8th, Mrs. Ross
Cumming of Ripley had a
relative shower in honour of
Miss Sally Elliott's forthcom-
ing marriage. Many beauti-
ful gifts were presented to
Sally.
Mrs. Eleanor Munro and
granddaughter Gail Small-
wood of Sutton, Ontario,
were recent visitors with Mr.
and Mrs. Ross Cumming in
Ripley and with other rela-
tives in this area.
Both Bill Elliott of the 10th
concession west, and Mike
Snobelen of the 4th conces-
sion west in Huron Town-
ship, were named in last
Saturday's noon market re-
port from the Ontario Live -
