Ladies
start
playoffs
The Ladies' Ashfield Bee-'
reational Ball teams start
their semi-finals this week.
The following teams make
up the league: Kingsbridge,
Kintail, Port Albert,' Dun-
gannon "A", Dungannon
"B", North Ashfield, Belfast
and Kinloss. These teams
will be playing three games
each this week.
The top four teams will
compete next week for the
championship and the re-
maining four teams will play
off for the consolation award.
A schedule will Appear in
next week's paper, giving
the times and places.
Fitness
unit

A physical fitness unit is
coming to town. The portable
unit moves from municipality
to municipality to test peop-
le's
physical fitness.
This is done through the
co-operation of the Lucknow
Recreation Department.
An information booth and
a unit will be at the Lucknow
Fall Fair., If a number of
people are interested, a
testing day will follow.
Noisy
Ladies
look good
The Noisy Ladies . are
looking good as the regular
season draws to a close. With
only two games left, the
Ladies are in third place:
Take note that this Thurs-
day's game against the
Goderich Superstars will be
played at the Agricultural
Park in Goderich. The last
chance to see the girls in
action during the regular
season will be August 10th in
town.
Last week's scores were
Lucknow 18, Goderich
Swingers 3, after five innings
on Monday night. Then on
Thursday the team played.
the Goderich Sailorettes and
although they were defeated,
Lucknow played its best and
most exciting game. The
score was 8 - 7 in the visitor's
favour after playing into
overtime.
Outstanding pitching by
Lorraine MacDonald and
Janice Rutherford has helped
keep the team in its good
standing this season.
