Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Martin of Northern Belfast,
Ireland, were visitors of Mr.
and Mrs. Clare,ce Irwin on
the 2nd concession of Huron
on Tuesday., Mr, and Mrs.
Martin are staying with Mr.
and Mrs. Cordon Irwin in
Kitchener until August 2.
The great grandmothers of
Mr. Martin and Mrs. Gordon
Irwin were sisters. This is the
first time in history that any
relations of Mr. Clarence
Irwin's grandparents have.
ever visited Canada since his
grandparents came to Bel-
fast, Ontario in 1848. Gordon
Irwen, who is the son of the
late James Irwin (2nd of
Huron) has completed the
family tree. In July 1977 Mr.
and Mrs. Gordon Irwin
visited in Northern Belfast,
Ireland.
Mr. Arthur Whethani of
Cambridge Galt was a
recent visitor with Mr, and
Mrs. E. W. Rice.
Visitors with Lester Ferg-
usons last week, were Rdv.
and Mrs. Stanley Gibson
from United Church, Mont-
real. Rev. Gibson is a former
Ripley Pastor and has been
in Montreal for over 10 years
now. While here they called
on Mrs. Gibson's aunt, Mrs.
Wm. MacKay at Huron Villa.
They also visited with Mr.
and Mrs. John MacMurchy
and William Fergusons,
Lucknow and others in the
vicinity and spoke to some on
the phone.

NATURE NUTS
The fourth meeting of the
Clover Valley Nature Nuts
was held on July 3 at the
home of Kathy Metzger.
Secretary, Charlene Elphick
read the minutes of the last
meetjiig. The neict meeting
will ,be the club - outing.
Donna Elphick led discus-
sions on trees, trees with
compound leaves, poisonous
plants, and animals. Karen
Metzger led discussions on
trees with simple . leaves,
trees with scaly leaves, and
birds. Donna Elphick showed
pictures of trees and Karen
Meter showe' a amples of
the various les. All mem-
bers used pressed flowers to
decorate pieces of notepaper.

and Mrs. John McPherson,
all of Teeswater,visited with
Mr. and Mrs. Graham Mof-
fat, formerly of Culross, at
the nursing home in Goder-
ich, on Sunday, July 2nd and
took them out to dinner,
which they .all enjoyed.
Congratulations to Mr.
and Mrs. Farish Moffat,
formerly-- of Langside, ' who
celebrated their 40th wed-
ding anniversary on Satur-
day, July 1st at their home in
Wingham.
We are sorry to report,
that Mrs. John (Jennie)
McInnes of Briarwood Cres-
cent, Wingham, is a patient
in Wingham Hospital. We
hope she will soon improve.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Young,
Karen and Liane took a trip
up north this weekend, They,
hope to . go - '- as ` far.. as
Algonquin Park. On the way
back they will leave Karen at
the band camp where mem-
bers of different bands are
camping for a week.
Mrs., Philip Steer is visit-
ing , with relatives in Eng -
I land. She plans to return
I home in August.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald
Young, Kevin, Brian, and
Jessica of Thornhill, spent
.the weekend with his -par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford
Young and William. Other
visitors on the weekend were
Marty and Jamie Young, Mr.
and Mrs. Len Coughlin and
girls and Russell Springer.
Now is the time for picnics
and reunions and two that
were held on Sunday were
the Orr picnic at the Wing -
ham park and the McInnes
reunion which was held at
Ithe home of John McInnes,
Wingham.

drove them home and is
spending a while here.
Mr. and Mrs. Levi Ecken-
swiller of London visited with
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gra-
ham and with Mr. and Mrs.
George Graham.
Mr. and Mrs. - E. J.
Fairhall of Glen Orchard
visited at the Maulden hon'ie
Sympathy is extended to
Mrs. Marjorie Mackie of
Hagersville, and family, in
the sudden death of her
husband, Delmar. The Mack-
ies were formerly of conces-
sion 8.
The annual Burt family
reunion was held on Sunday
at Hanover Park.
Mrs. Marjorie Culley of
Toronto spent the week with
Mr. and. Mrs.Arthur Hald-
-enby.,, Mr.' and Ws. Howard
Bennett were also up for the
weekend.
Mr. Herman Lanting re-
turned home on Saturday
from University Hospital,
London, where he has been a
patient for a time. We wish
him improved health.
Mr. and Mrs. John Visser
and Tracey of Gorrie spent
the weekend with her par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert
Hedley and family.
Mr. and Mrs. William E.
Haldenby returned home by
air from visiting with their
Maclntyre nephews and their
wives at Culross, Manitoba.
The Haldenbys accompanied
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Fry
who left by car a week ago,
crossing on the Chi-Chee-
maun from Tobermory to
South Bay Mouth on Sunday,
July 9th.
Arthur Graham and his
nephew Mr. Graeme Cassidy
spent the weekend at Ann
Arbor, Michigan, with Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Graham.
The Haldenby family held
their annual reunion at the
home of Mrs. Bertha Halden-
by last Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Grant Eck-
enswiller and Mr. and Mrs.
Lorne Eadie returned from a
motor trip to the east coast.
