The problems are multipli- ed with the injury to ace pitcher, Hugh Todd, who. is sidelined due to torn liga- ments in his lower leg and he will be sporting a cast for some time. Meanwhile pitch- ing chores are being shared by Ron Stanley, Mark .Chis- holm and Doug Stevenson. Noisy Ladies get needed victory The Noisy Ladies narrowly defeated the Clinton Slug- gers last Thursday by a score of 31 - 30. It was a much needed victory after two losses the week before. Lori Pegg hit her first home run of the season while Clinton slugged home two. The Ladies are sporting new sweaters which were purchased by their sponsors Helm Welding Ltd. and Howatt's Drainage, Bel - grave. The girls raised part of -the money for the sweaters themselves. Leos win floor hockey tourney The Lucknow and District Leo • Club recently won the championship trophy in a Floor Hockey Tournament held in Harriston. Lucknow won all their games. Team members were: Jim Cranston, Uphinder Mehan, Steve Hamilton, Mike Mc- Donagh, Wayne McDonagh, Rick Conley, Wayne Bell and coach Joe VanBoven. Steve Hamiltdh was the high scorer for Lucknow. Lawn bowling On June 24th at a men's doubles tournament in Wing - ham, Jack MacDonald and Jack Fisher won the trophy and first prize. Roy Finlayson and Jack Treleaven won third prize. On July 1st at a men's doubles tournament in Ches- ley, Roy Finlayson and Omar Brooks won third prize. On July 2nd at a mixed doubles tournament in Wing-, ham, Jack and Jane Treleav- en won first prize. On July 3rd in Lucknow at a mixed doubles tournament, first prize went to Jas. Coultes' rink from Brussels; 2nd prize to Keith Collyer and Audrey MacDonald, Lucknow; 3rd prize to Allan MacKay's rink from Wi'ng- ham and 4th prize to Jack Treleaven and Dora Brooks, Lucknow. At a ladies' double tourna, ment in Lucknow on July Sth, first prize was won by Lois Bell's rink, Atwood; 2nd prize went to Grace Hewitt's rink, Atwood; 3rd prize went to Muriel McCool's rink, Wingham and 4th prize went to Anne McTavish and Tillie Wilson, Lucknow.
