A family picnic was held Sun- day with 65 attending. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Moffat and family of Oakville entertained a number of relatives and friends on Satt}rday evening at, the home of their parents, Mr. -:and Mrs. Farish Moffat, of Wingham (formerly of Lang - side), in honour of their 40th wedding anniversary. Guests were present from Oakville, Toronto, Dundas, London, Kitchener, Goderich, Luck - now, Teeswater and Wing - ham. The bridesmaid, Mrs. Herb Buckton, of .Lucknow and the groomsman, Mr. William McKenzie of Dun - Purple Grove BY MRS. ALMA GILLIES Mr. and Mrs. Francis Boyle left by air on Thursday for a month's vacation in the United Kingdom. - Miss Bonnie Boyle cele- -brated her birthday on Fri- day. Mrs. Joyce Farrell, Tereca and Tania were dinner guests. Friends are glad to hear hat Heather Boyle has returned home after having surgery - in Owen Sound Hospital last week. A surprise party was held on Sunday evening for Cor- rine Boyle's birthday with lots of Junior Farmers pres- ent. Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Elliott and Ian and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Greenwood for the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Zook of Teconksa, Michigan. Mr. and Mrs. John Farrell entertained at a birthday dinner for Richard Mcosh on Saturday. GIcn Bolte was a dinner guest with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Elliott on Saturday and Martin Bolte visited with Ian Elliott for the weekend. Congratulations to Nancy Ackert (daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence. Ackert) and Gordon Fair (son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Fair) who were married in St. Andrew's United Church, Ripley, on Saturday. Mr. ' and Mfrs Donnie Thompson have moved into their new home in Ripley. Sympathy is extended to Mrs. Grace Carruthers and family and to the family of the late Mrs. Bessie Huston in their recent bereavement. Weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Donald Gillies and Mrs. Frances Gillies were Mrs. Lorna Jordan and Mrs. Marie Coleman of Toronto. das, were" present \for the occasion. Mrs. Moffat's fath- er, Mr: Al x MacKenzie of Lucknow, wlio is 93, was an honoured guest. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rit- chie returned last Sunday from a visit to Edmonton and Fort McMurray, Alberta. Harold was the delegate from the Lucknow Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion to the 27th Dominion Conven- tion which was held in Edmonton from June 11 - 15th. On June 15th Harold and Muriel flew to Fort McMurray, where they visit- ed with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Ritchie and Brett, and -Mr. and Mrs. Terry Rathwell and family. They also had a short visit with Jack Webster in Edmonton before returning home. J. J. and Lynne Houston spent the weekend in Luck - now with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Houston and will be at French Bay at a cottage for the next ten days. ;IIIf IIS 1» • I SEE .. . Simpson who was from Thornhill was the Ontario representative to the Historic Sites and Monument Board.
