On Monday Jim McIntyre
of Val Caron and daughter,
Linda, Mrs: Don Clarke, and
her son, Raymond, visited
with Mr. and Mrs. Carl
McClenaghan and his moth-
er Mrs. C. McIntyre of
Wingham.
Mrs. Ryan of Goderich and
Mrs. Carl McClenaghan on
Frida visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Dick McQuillin.
Mrs. Eileen Parker of
Exter visited on Sunday with
Mrs. Ben McClenaghan and
Mr. and Mrs. Carl McClen-
aghan.
Word was received here
that Mr. Will Shaw, husband
of Jessie MacGregor, had
passed away in Toronto June
10. Mr. Shaw died suddenly
from a heart attack "while in
the flower garden. Mrs.
Shaw who was born , at
Langside and grew to . young
womanhood there will be
remembered by many of that
area. Mrs. Shaw on June 17
took a heavy stroke on the
right ' side and as a result
cannot ._speak. Her many
friends here wish ' her a
speedy recovery.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Elliott
of Brussels visited Sunday
with his parents Mr. and
Mrs. Walter Elliott.
Mr. _ and Mrs. Joe Tiffin,
Joey, and Mrs. Orville Tiffin,
were at Goderich at Mr. and
Mrs. Bill Snowden's to
celebrate Bill Jr.'s 2nd birth-
day.
Joey Tiffin, a pupil of Dave
Golley, passed his guitar
music exam with first class
honours. Congratulations
Joey.
Mrs. Eric Evans of London
was a Saturday visitor with
her mother, Mrs. Donaldson,
at Walkerton. Hospital and
with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Bill Evans.
Mr. 'and Mrs. Bill Willis
and Lyle and Mrs.. Doris
Willis moved on Saturday to
their recently purchased
home at Bluevale.

with Sunday School following

meeting at Priceville.

held Wednesday, June 21 in

the church with Mrs. Bill
Evans hostess.

Mrs. Eldon Austin who
was hospitalized at the
Alexandra Marine and Gen-
eral Hospital, Goderich' was
able to return to her home on
Monday, June 19.
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Van-
Diepenbeek, newlyweds re-
turned from a honeymoon in
the Western Provinces. They
will be making their home at
the groom's farm at R. R. 7
Lucknow. A special welcome
is given to Mrs. VanDiepen-
beek, the former Barbara
Hamilton of Lucknow.
Ashfield had a Tug of War
Team in Lucknow on Satur-
day, June 24 taking part in
the Kin Summerfest. Those
in the team were: Paul Eedy,
Bill Wilkins, Kevin Austin,
Mike Courtney, Kenny Ham-
ilton, Donnie , Kuik, Louie
Sloetjes, and. Maurice Milt-
enburg. Lucknow and Kin-
loss pulled with Lucknow• the
winner of this division.
Ashfield pulled first against
the Kinsmen and winning
this pulled against' Lucknow
and were the winners of the
Championship Trophy. Fin -

lay MacDonald was in charge
of the team and accepted the
trophy on behalf of the
Ashfield team. Congratula-
tions, boys.
The St. Louis Choir from
Waterloo were present to
sing at the Sunday morning
Mass at St. Joseph's Church,
Kingsbridge on June 25.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Clare
and Mary Luanne attended a
surprise 35th wedding anni-
versary celebration for Mr.
and Mrs. Hugh Ferguson in
Stratford recently. Mass was
celebrated in St. Joseph's
Roman Catholic Church,
Stratford and refreshments
served at the home of their
daughter Mr. and Mrs.
David O'Reilly, Stratford,
followed by an afternoon
