Happenings
BY LYNNE NICOLSON
Readers BEWARE, a dis-
ease is lurki5g in Jhe area. It
'seems tp continually arrive in
this area on June 21. It;
snakes one overly happy and •
tends to affect the young and
older males especially, Wo-
men on the most part seem to
find it a nuisance. They
notice with some concern
that they are invaded by
creatures from a place called
school and now have no time
to themselves. They are
obliged to take these creat-
ures to the local swimming
pool almost every day unless
there happens to be a pool
close by. The only cure is to
head immediately to the
North Pole. The disease my
friends is Summer.
I will now proceed and
show you how the disease
has affected this area. Well,
school is out and so as
happens every year award
ceremonies were held at
Lucknow and Kinloss Central
Public Schools. At Kinloss
five awards were presented.
Girls general proficiency was
awarded to Liane Young, the
boy's proficiency went to
Chad Mann. The English
proficiency went to Katrina
Howald. The Nicolson Mem-
orial Award for Art ability
was presented to Linda
Searle who also received art
materials as well as the
trophy. This year a new
award was presented for
Public Speaking. It was
awarded to Dawn Nicolson.
At Lucknow Public there was
also a new award presented.

Gingrich of Holyrood." Con-
gratulations Beth.
Some band members of
this area attended the band

a conert given by the band
at Harbour Park, Goderich.
Everyone enjoyed themselv-
