The population of Lucknow is now 1,200 and the Ministry of Transportation and Commu- nication will be changing the population sign at the village entrances to read 1,200 instead of 1,000. THAT Last week's Lottery winner was Mrs. Jim Burt, R. R. 3 Holyrood. THAT Mr. and Mrs. Ron Forster of Lucknow, attended the Shriners Ceremonial in Sault Ste. Marie last weekend. Ron is third vice president of Bluewater Shrine Club. Sev- eral Shriners from the U.S. also attended. THAT Last Wednesday Mrs. Etta Campbell was taken by ambulance to University Hospital, London, from Wingham and District Hos- pital were she fell and broke her right hip while recover- ing from a similar break to her left hip. Last February .she fell on icy pavement and spent neartly six weeks in the London Hospital and was transferred to Wingham: She was to have been discharged this week until this second accident occurred. She is. now making favourable pro- gress from hip surgery again. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie McDonald, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Humphrey, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Cook, Mr. Milvert Reid of Lucknow and Mrs. Gladys Barwick of Goderich attend- ed the wedding of Lorraine Gillespie and Scott Walker of Sarnia on June 16th. The wedding took place at the Parker Street United Church, Sarnia with the reception following at the Lambton Shrine Club. The lovely smorgasbord meal was fol- lowed by ,a dance to a popular orchestra. Lorraine is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gillespie, formerly of the Whitechurch area. Lawn bowling news On Saturday, June 17 a mixed doubles tournament was held on the Lucknow Lawn Bowling Greens. First prize went to Mel Brady's rink from Seaforth; 2nd prize to M. Droughton's rink from Atwood; 3rd prize to Isobel Miller and Rev. Kaufman, Lucknow; and 4th prize to Helen and Terry Gardner from Wingham. ^� On Wednesday afternoon a Ladies' Doubles Tourna- ment was held on the Teeswater Greens. David Mewhinney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Me- whinney has graduated from Conestoga College, Kitchen- er, in electrical appliance and is now employed at Gra- ham's Electric in Goderich.
