PUSSY WILLOW TIME
BY DONAID ROCK
The pussy willows soft and sweet,
Are here again this spring;
What lovely overtures of joy,
To my heart they bring.
They hint of Spring, and every
year,
Their age old promise keep,
These silver catkins all curled up,
Like kittens fast asleep.
•
When stroked by asun or gentle
breeze,
It seems sometimes that I,
Can hear them purr a friendly
purr,
Or just a little sigh.
It's spring, It's spring, I thrill to
see,
These furry puffs of velvet plush,
Those kittens on a stem.
SPRING SONG
BY MICHELE BURNETT
In the distance a cry is heard,
Whipperwill, Whipperwill,
I wonder if it is a bird?
Whipperwill, Whipperwill.
The crickets then join in the song,
The wolfbegins to howl,
The birds begin to sing their
song,
With the deep hooting owl.
Soon the spring song will fade
away,
Whipperwill, Whipperwill,
As the dark night slips far away,
Whipperwill, Whipperwill.
SPRING
BY ALEX MacDONALD
pat at warm spring is in. the air
Dew worths are creepin every-
where.
The birds will come and pick them
up
And drop them in their dinner
'cup.
And then there won't be any more
around,
For they'll be hidden in the
ground,
Then the birds will fly away,
And the worms will come out and
play. 11

Clark Lighthouse at 1.30 p.m. on
Tuesday, May 16th. When the
class arrived there was a speech
about the Lighthouse. It is the
oldest building in Huron Town-
ship. A plaque was unveiled by w
Mrs. Jack MacDonald, daughter
of Mr. Jack Campbell, the last
keeper of the lighthouse. Report-
ers from CKCO and CKNX took
films of the presentation and
ourselves.
After the unveiling the class
went in groups of 5 into the
lighthouse and climbed the 114
stairs. When the students reach-
ed the top they looked at the big
light and then looked around and
decided to go down. When every-
one had their turn they took
pictures and went on the beach
and looked for shells, feathers or
