1• Pie 2 Lucknow Sentinel, Wednesday, May 24, 1978 HUMPHREY - COLLING • The marriage of Marjorie Colling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allan Colling of Ripley, and George'Humphrey, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Humphrey of Lucknow took place in St.. Helen's United Church on April 28, 1978, at eight p.m. Rev. Albert . Cook performed the double ring ceremony and Barbara Cameron played tradi- tional music. Larry MacPherson, soloist, sang three of the couple's. favourite songs. The bride wore a champagne ivory polyester satin floor -length gown and a picture hat with a shoulder length veil. She carried a white Bib'►e trimmed with yellow and white roses. The groom met the bride half way up the aisle and escorted her to the altar. Two arrangements of yellow carnations and bluedaisies in white vases decorated the front of the church. The maid of honour, Susan Schmidt, of Tiverton wore a sapphire blue floor -length gown trimmed with a V-neck ruffle. She carried a yellow rose trimmed with a blue ribbon and she wore 'a blue daisy in her hair. Bridesmaids, Donna MacLen- nan, Kintail, and Michele Hum- phrey, Belfast were dressed similar to the maid of honour. Melanie Wylds of Belfast was flower girl and she carried a little white Bible trimmed with yellow and white roses. The best man, Terry Taylor, of Lucknow and ushers, Donald MacDonald, - St. Helens and Michael Humphrey, Belfast wore dusk blue tuxedos and light blue ruffled shirts. Each wore a yellow rose boutonniere. The ring bearer, Scott Nugent of St. Thomas, carried a heart shaped pillow trimmed with blue lace and yellow rosebuds. The mother of the bride wore a floor -length -gown of beige poly- ester with silver accessories and a corsage of yellow and white roses and carnations. The groom's mother wore a floor -length gown and matching coat of blue and yellow flowered sheer over taffeta and a corsage of yellow and white carnations and rosebuds. f he bride's grandmother, Mrs. Howard Thompson, of Ripley, made the wedding cake. Following the ceremony an open reception was held at the Lucknow Legion Hall where. a smorgasbord buffet was served: Following a two week honeymoon in Florida, the couple are residing at -R. R. 2 Lucknow. The groom is road superintend- ent for the- Township of West Wawanosh. Purple Grove BY JANET NIXON Bert Thompson attended the Mitchell wedding in London on Saturday. ay. Those attending the Bruce South Women's Institute District Annual at Reid's Corners Tues- day, May 17th from Purple Grove Institute were, Mrs. Don Reid, Mrs. Cecil Sutton, Mrs. Howard Thompson, Mrs, Wm. Arnold, Mrs. Don Gillies and Mrs. Don McCosh. On Sunday a birthday celebra- tion was held for Mr. Earl Elliott with w od, . Jean Paul, JoelPaul Green- wood, and Mrs. P .: and Mr. and Mrs. John Farrell, Teressa, Tani, Mr. and Mrs. John A. Elliott of Princess Court, Kincar- dine and Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Rider attending. Bonnie Boyle was at her home here over the weekend visiting with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Francis' Boyle. From the Purple Grove area one hundred and ninety four dollars was collected for the Cancer Society. Mr. and .Mrs. Chris Benoy, Bonnie Boyle of London and Mr: and Mrs. Francis Boyle were Sunday visitors , with Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Sutton. ifiCIUB NEWS CLOVER VALLEY NATURE NUTS BY CHARLENE ELPHICK The second meeting of the Clover Valley Nature Nuts was held- at the home of Donna Elphick on May 17. We opened the meeting with the 4-H pledge and the reading of the minutes by Charlene Elphick. The next meeting will be held at the home of Charlene • Elphick on Saturday, June 3rd at nine forty-five. The leaders then discussed "Heat Sources", "Methods of Cooking", and following this the members helped make a one package dinner and an upside down cake. We then discussed "Food Safety" and "Refrigera- tion for Campers". The members then closed the meeting with the 4-H motto.
