James Kirkpatrick of Victoria, Australia, came to the school on Thursday, May 18, to speak to the Grade 8 classes about Australia and to show some slides. James is in Canada as a 4-H Club representative and spent last week as guest of Murray . Irvin at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Irvin. Mr. Liddle's Grade 7 class wept on an overnight camping trip to Camp Menetetung on May 17 - 18. They learned many camp skills, conducted science exercis----. es and enjoyed the outing very much. Tht, Brookside Field Day is DRIVE OUT AIID being held on May 26 at the school. The top three winners from each event will go on to the Regional Field Day on June 1, also at Brookside School. Loree Gammie of Loree's Ladies' Wear, Lucknow came to the school to speak to the Grade 8 girl's Guidance class. She dem- onstrated to the girls how to sit and walk properly and gave further information on how to make the most of one's appear- ance to make a good impression. Both Grade 8 classes, accom- panied by Mr. Jewitt and Miss Trezise took a bus trip to Toronto on Friday, May 12. They went to the Parliament Buildings where they viewed one-half hour of the government in session after which they had a tour of the building.
