TOP ACADEMIC AWARD - Bill Errington, R. R. 2 Auburn,
received the United Co-operatives of Ontario Award as the top
academic student hi the Agricultural Business Management course
at the recent graduation of Centralia College of Agriculture
Technology. Robert Coulthard, president of the U.C.O. of Ontario
made the presentation.
ST. HELENS U.C.W.
The St. Helens United Church
Woinen met on May 9, 1978 at
Mrs. Don Cameron's home. Miss
Isabel Miller was in charge of the
meeting. The scripture was read
by Mrs. Helen Todd. Hymn 392
was repeated in unison, a Litany
read by Miss Isabel Miller and
a hymn sung. Readings were
given by Mrs: Dorothy Miller and
Mrs. Margaret Canmeron,
Mrs. Janet McPherson gave an
, interesting talk on Jamaica in the
Caribbean. She closed with
prayer.
Mrs. Janet McPherson was• in
charge of the business. The
twelve ladies and two children
enjoyed an auction of plants. A
visitor, Mrs. Chas. McDonald,
acted as auctioneer and it proved
to be, both fun and profitable for
the group.
Lunch was served previous to
the auction and courtesy remarks
made.

from Centralia College of Agricul-
tural Technology in the Agricul-
tural Business Management pro-
gram. Fred plans to return to the
home farm.
Mrs. Donald Maclntyre gave a
report from the thirtieth Officer's
Conference she attended in
Waterloo.
Mrs. Bob Gilchrist gave the
motto "One generation plants the
tree, the next generation gets the
shade". She said that the trees
that we are enjoying now were
planted by our ancestors and we
should replant trees that have
been cut down for our children so
they can reap the benefit.
Mrs. Peter- -Steer gave the
courtesy remarks followed by the
singing of 0 Canada and Grace.
Mrs. Margaret Collyer conducted
a sale of plants and seeds. Lunch
was served by the directors, Mrs.
Donald MacKinnon and Mrs. Ira -. -.
