Mrs. Harold Gaunt, Mrs. Helen Todd, and Charles McQuil- lin were appointed to represent the St. Helens community to plan and restore the Cemetery to a respectable place of rest with assistance at he local level. To commemorate the occasion a plaque was dedicated on May 16. Mrs. Jack MacDonald of Lucknow, daughter of Jack Campbell [Ret. 19621, the last lighthouse keeper, unveiled the plaque. Built in 1859 by the Department of Public Works, this handsome 87. foot structure is one of six "Irmperlal Towers" on these shores. The circular limestone tower has wails five feet thick at the base, tapering. to two feet at the top.
