of their children, Lloyd (Wee
Willy) and Phyllis (Sweetpea).
The wedding took place on May 5,
1978 at the Pine River United
Church. The couple will reside at
R. R. 1 Kincardine, Ontario.
FAIR - ACKERT
The wedding of Nancy and
Gordon, children of Clarence and
Shirley Ackert, Robert and Wil-
helmine Fair, will take place June
24, 1978. Grandparents of nancy
are Harvey and Blanche Ackert,
Kincardine.

Cars were available for transpor-
tation; yet many of the 34 men
and women who had at least 70
years to their credit, preferred to
walk to the church. Aware that
many of the Senior Folk were
unable to be present, the
opportunif5-of a "Shut-In's Day"
on June 7th will not be forgotten.
25 YEARS AGO
An outbreak of hog cholera in
the Kitchener district. has result-
ed in a Department order
cancelling all community sales for
the time being. This ruling affects
-• ,the local- sale which was called off
Shis week. Bob McIntosh, local
sales manager, says the shut
down comes at a peak season, as
last week's sale was the biggest
yet held, with many good cattle
being offered at this time.
Coronation Day, June 2nd, will
be celebrated. in- Lucknow by a
public holiday and a patriotic
service in the park at 10 o'clock in
the morning.
Close to 300 ladies of the Zone
II Ladies' Auxiliary to the Royal
Canadian Legion assembled at
the- Town Hall, Lucknow, when
the 11 branches gathered for a
Zone Rally. Attending were
members of the Blyth, Brussels,
==_Clinton, Exeter, Goderich, Hen-
-sall, Howick, Lucknow, Kincard-
ine, Seaforth, and Wingham
branches and the visiting branch-
es, Harriston and Palmerston.
Frank Graham was provoked on
Monday when a little Bunting
bird was shot on his farm which is °
a sort of bird santuary. This little
bird and its brightly coloured
mate have nested on the Graham
Farm for two years and Frank
says they are very rare in these
parts. As a result of the incident
he has ordered no shooting or
trespassing on his property.
