Mr. and Mrs. Carl McClenag-
han and Mrs. Ben McClenaghan
were at Plattsville to attend the
christening of grandchildren,
Amy Moss, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Don Moss, who had 5
grandparents present; and Jill
McCartney, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Jim McCartney who had 3
grandparents present. Snaps
were taken of the 4 generations.
Mrs. Ben McClenaghan remained
for a few weeks holiday.
Quite a few from here attended
the School Band Concert held in
the Lucknow Arena on Saturday
evening.
The Y.P.S. held their meeting
on Sunday evening in the manse.
Congratulations to Mr. and
Mrs. Dave McGlynn on the
arrival on May 9th of a baby boy
at Kitchener -Waterloo Hospital.
On Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Bill
Snowden and Bill Jr., visited with
Mrs. Dave McGlynn at Kitchener
Hospital.
Sunday evening Mr. and Mrs.
Joe Tiffin, Joey, and Mrs. Orville
Tiffin visited at the K & W
Hospital with Mrs. Dave Mc-
Glynn and with Mr. McGlynn at
his home.
Little Pauline Stewart of Blyth
is visiting with her grandmother,
Mrs. Bob Adams, . while her
mother is visiting her sisters in
the West.
We are pleased to report that
Mrs. Bob Mowbray received word
that her son, Relison Falconer, of
Sarnia, who had undergone
surgery, was doing as well as
could be expected.
Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Scholtz
and Kenton of Goderich were
Mother's Day visitors with Mr.
and Mrs. Lorne Durnin.
On Saturday afternoon Mrs:
Agnes Farrier held a relative
shower for Lorraine Gillespie of
Sarnia, bride to be. Friends were
present from Toronto, London,
Sarnia, Port Elgin, Goderich,
Lucknow and Guelph.
Mr. and Mrs- Wayne Farrier,
Kimberley and Amy of Guelph
spent the weekend with his
mother, Mrs. Agnes Farrier.
Mrs. Carmen .Farrier, Colleen
and Winnifred Farrier of Toronto
were also weekend guests with
Mrs. Agnes Farrier.
Mrs. Edith Brown of London
spent Mother's Day with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Evans.
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Mowbray
and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
Mowbray of Bay City, Michigan,
attended the Harkness Reunion at
Teeswater Saturday evening and
on Sunday visited. with Mr. and
Mrs. Bob Mowbray.
Mrs. Earl Caslick on the
weekend had Mrs. Vera Thornhill
of Souris, Manitoba, visiting with
her on Sunday.
On Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Bill
Gibson, Greg and Billie and Mrs.
Rhonda Frank of Wingham,
attended the wedding in Niagara
Falls of Cheryl Lougheed and
Randy Dea.
Mrs. Maimie Caslick spent
Mother's Day with Mr. and Mrs.
Wallace Conn.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Caesar and
family attended the Harkness
reunion on Saturday evening.
Mother's Day celebrants with
Mr. and Mrs. Dan Tiffin were his
mother, Mrs. Orville Tiffin, and
her mother, Mrs. Ethel Stewart,
Barry Tiffin of St. Thomas, Joyce
Tiffin of Toronto and Mr. and
Mrs. Douglas Tiffin, Lori and
Michael of Wingham.
Last weekat the High 'School
competitions; Miss Clara Milligan
entered in the jump contest,
which she won. Then she was
asked if she could jump to beat
the record set.. She tried and hurt
her knee with the result she was
taken to London on Friday. She
had to return on Sunday for
x-rays. If the ligament is stretch-
ed then she has therapy and if
torn the result will be surgery,
We are sorry to report that
Walter Moore's mother passed
away suddenly on Saturday. The
community extends their sym-
pathy.
The community extends their
sympathy to James McIntosh of
Wingham, Mrs. Neil MacCallum,
Lucknow, and to Miss Ella
McIntosh of Vancouver in the
passing of their sister, Annie
(Mrs. Albert McQuillin) on Satur-
day.

Mowbray on Saturday ' night
attended the Harkness Family
Reunion at Teeswater arena.
On Sunday at Chalmers' Pres-
byterian Church the Sunday
School awards were given . out by
the superintendent, Walter Elli-

8th year bar, Donald Irwin. 9 year
bar, Kendra Purdon, Eddie de
Boer. 10th year bar, Donald de
Boer. The Sunday School
teachers are Karen Young, Vickie
Scott, Hilda de. Boer, Mrs.
Osborne, Kathy Purdon, Lorie
Purdon and Mrs. Emerson. The
church extends congratulations to
the Sunday School children who
received awards Sunday morning
at church. Our thanks also goes to
the children who attended fairly
regularly but do not have the
"T attendance t� receive ari award.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim . Morrison
and baby, Adam, of Lucknow
were Sunday callers on Mr. and
Mrs. Victor Emerson.
WHITECHURCH W.I.
Whitechurch Women's Insti-
tute held its Family .and Consum-
er Affairs meeting on Wednesday
evening.
The meeting was opened by the
secretary treasurer, Mrs. Rena
Fisher.
Mrs. Agnes Farrier was ap-
pointed to act as president for the
meeting as our president, Mrs.
Russel McGuire, along with her
husband, has accepted a position
as caretakers of an apartment in
Kitchener.
The minutes were read by the
secretary treasurer, Mrs. Fisher.
It was decided to make a quilt in
the fall for Participation. Thanks
for get well cards was received
from Mrs. Russel Gaunt.
The 4 -FI president, June Alton,
thanked the W.I. for inviting the
Twirling Bobbins, and told of
their member, Kathy Purdon,
receiving the highest award,' a
silver pie server for having
attended 18 clubs. Their poster
for Achievement Day and their..
books were on display. Each girl
introduced herself and exhibited
the blouse she had made during
the course. Miss Lori Jamieson,
the commentator for Achieve-
ment Day, gave her talk on Read
That Label. ,
The motto was prepared by
Mrs. R. Gaunt and read by Miss
Merle Wilson. A skit with Mrs.
Agnes Farrier, Mrs. Fred Tiffin,
and Mrs. Bill Rintoul, centred on
the metric System.
Miss June Alton won the
contest. It was decided to have an
afternoon euchre on Wednesday,
May 31st. Miss Merle Wilson will
be president for the rest of the
year.
The lunch was served by Mrs.
Emerson, Miss Merle Wilson and
' Mrs. Fred Tiffin.

visited on Sunday with Mr. and

attended the baptismal service of
their granddaughter, Donna Jean
Forster, at the Ripley United
Church on Sunday. Donna is the
daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Don
Forster.
Congratulations to Laurie Clark
who has graduated from C,G,I.T.
on Monday night after being in
C.Q.I.T. for 5 years.
Visiting with her parents Mr.
and Mrs. Philip Steer, on the
weekend, were Mr. and Mrs. Ion
Wallace and family of London.
They also visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Don Bell and family.
Mr. and Mrs, Ken Houston
served dinner to their family after
the baptismal service for Andy
Jean on Sunday. Dinner guests
included, Mr. and Mrs. Stewart
Farrell and family, Mr, and Mrs.
Harvey Houston, J. J. and Lynne,
and Jean Hughes. Also Amy's
great grandfather, Mr. Ben
Farrell.
