Obituaries —
FLORA LETITIA GEDDES
Flora Letitia Geddes died May
2, 1978 in Kincardine and District
Hospital after a short illness.
Flora Letitia was' fondly called
"Flossie" by those who knew her
best.
She entered heartily into com-
munity life wherever she resided.
'She was a member of Pine River
United Church and later a
member of St. Andrew's United
Church, Ripley.
The Women's. Organizations of
each church were of vital interest
to her.
She as a member of Bruce
Chapter No. 253 O.E.S. Kincard-
ine. The members of this Chapter
conducted a Memorial Service in
her honour on May 3rd at 9 p.m.
Flora was born October 5th,
1888, eldest daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. James M. Blue of Huron
Township.
She attended school at S. S. No.
9 Huron Township, second con-
cession. She worked at dressmak-
ing, both Iogally and in Detroit.
On December 10th, 1913,
Flossie married Samuel Geddes
of the fourth concession of Huron
Township, where they farmed
successfully for many years.
In 1945 they retired and moved
to Amberley. On June 14th, 1961
Sam died following a short
illness.
In early autumn 1961. Flossie
moved to Ripley where she
resided until she entered South-
ampton Nursing Home, Decem-
ber 26th, 1975.
On January 24th, 1978 she
moved to "Princess Court"
Kincardine where she resided
until her last illness.
The funeral service was held
May 4th, 1978 at 2 p.m. from
MacKenzie, and McCreath Funer-
al Home, Jtipley. Rev. Jas.
Bushell of St. Andrew's United
Church, Ripley, officiated.
Mrs. Geddes leaves to mourn
one brother John Blue, and one
sister, Catherine, Mrs. Lloyd
Irwin, both of Ripley.
She was predeceased by two
sisters, Annie, Mrs. Grant Mac-
Diarmid, Lucknow and Bessie,
Mrs. Elymer Reavie of Huron
Township, and' three brothers,
William Blue and George Blue,
both of Detroit, Michigan and
Donald Blue of Ripley.
Many nieces, nephews, relativ-
es and friends from different
parts of Ontario and Michigan
attended the funeral.
The pallbearers were six neph-
ews, Allan Irwin, Roy Geddes,
Eugene Blue, James Blue, John
Blue and Donald Blue.
The flower bearers were John
Scott, Bill Scott and Roy Stanley.

Grade 5 were the winners for
the intermediate running, contest.
They did 654 -laps around a 1
kilometer track. Mrs. Shewfelt
and Mrs. Bourgeois classes were
tied for the Junior running
contest. They had to run . to
Toronto (240 laps) on the same,
track. The classes still don't know
what they are getting for a prize.

later this month. Tickets are
being sold on a Pro Life quilt.
' Father Dentinger said he
hoped the church bells could soon
be repaired. Though it is a rather
expensive undertaking most
members felt it wool be very
worthwhile. The church sign has
been knocked over and t was felt
there should be signs with the
name of the church and the time
of masses.
A garage sale will be held
sometime in July. President, Pat
Howard, mentioned the Diocesan
Convention to be held in London
on May 9 and 10.- Grace Austin
and Teresa Courtney hope to
attend.
There will be a joint meeting of
the St. Augustine, Lucknow and
Kingsbridge C.W.L. groups held
in St. Augustine in June. This will
also be a plant sale. The meeting
closed with prayer followed by
lunch and a social hour followed.
