The Duncans lived for a number of years on the sixth concession. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Elliott had as dinner guests on Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Angus J. Elliott from Princess •Court, Kincardine; Mr. and Mrs, John Farrell, Teressa and Tania, and Mr. Paul Green- wood and Jean Paul. The Purple Grove Women's Institute held their Sunshine Sisters banquet at the Community Centre Wednesday, May 2 at ••• seven o'clock, Each member brought aguest. A delicious smorgasbord dinner was prepar- ed by two of the members for about fifty guests. The evening started by singing Grace led by Irene Boyle. While the tables were being cleared, president, Mrs. Don Reid and—secretary, Mrs. -Cecil Sutton, held a short business meeting. Mrs. Don Reid welcom- ed the guests and members. Miss Lettie Gawley drew the tickets for the Way winners of the quilts that were quilted during the winter, the winners being NUS Frances Emmerson and Mrs. Elizabeth Nicholson; the third guilt is being given to Participa- tion Action Lodge for handicap- ped adults. Games Of cards were played, The winners were high lady, Mrs, Merle Rhody; hardest worker, Mrs. Margaret Van Rooyan; lucky cup, Mrs, Marjorie Armstrong; the nearest birthday was Miss Geraldine Emmerson. The couple are moving to Calgary to retire and were having a last visit with their relatives before leaving Ontatio. Amanda Todd has returned as a patient to the Wirigham and District Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Allan Cranston visited their daughter, Mrs. Tom Irwin, who is in hospital in London.
