It was nice to have Mrs. Raynard Ackert back from her winter in Ari ona and she asked for volunteers to make up an orchestra which was well re- sponded to and she, with Edna Boyle at the piano and the orchestra entertained the ladies with some lively music. This got `everyone in a singing mood. Mrs, Cecil Sutton from Purple Grov gave a nice reading and the a joke on her husband. Mrs. Agn Farrier and Mrs. Lorne Durnin of Whitechurch favoured with two musical numbers on the piano and auto harp. Mrs. Lorne Eadie conducted a Quiz. Bill MacPherson journeyed to Walkerton and enjoyed 'a visit with Wesley 'and, Gordon . Mac- Pherson, formerly of concession 8 and now -at Brucelea Haven. Some of our ladies attended the Smorgasbord supperlat the Purp- le Grove Institute on Wednesday evening. Mrs. Ken MacDonald Carl and Lisa returned home from visiting at Kitchener with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Yeandle. Mr. and Mrs. Tom McDonald enjoyed a two week holiday at Bakersfield, California with their son, Mac, and Mrs, McDonald and Jeffrey. Kenneth MacDonald who is taking an' 8 week course in ,plumbing in Toronto spent the weekend at his home here. Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. George Graham during the week were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Ellacott of Toronto and Rev. and Mrs. Alex Hewitt of Burlington. Mrs. Arthur Haldenby has been spending a while with Mr. and Mrs. Howard Bennett at Toronto. Friends from here extend congratulations to Mrs. Ina Eadie of Wingham on her 80th birthday. HOLYROOD W.I. Holyrood Women's Institute entertaining night was held at the hall on Thursday. Visiting Insti- tutes were from Silver Lake,; Purple Grove, Lucknow, Kairshea and Whitechurch. Mrs. Alex Percy presided and extended a hearty welcome to all present.
