Dalton gave three guitar selec-
tions. In contests conducted by
Mrs. Beryl MacDonald, Delores
VanOsch, and Rose Mary O'Ke-
efe won prizes. All present at the
shower wrote a few lines of
"Advice to the Bride" in the
special Bridal. Book. The address
to the bride was read by Betty Lou
Dalton. Sheila received many
lovely and useful gifts. In her
"Thank You" she invited every-
one to visit in their new home in
Goderich before she goes West in
the fall.
Sincere- sympathy is extended
to the Courtney families on the
death of Mr: Walter (Wally)
Judge of Jackson, Michigan on
Friday, April 28th in his 78th
year. He was the husband of the
former Marie C iurtney, formerly
of Kingsbridge. Attending the
wake and the funeral from this
area were Mr. and Mrs. 'John
Austin and Eugene; Mr. and Mrs.
Joe Courtney; and Mr. Leo
Courtney of Goderich.
Reverend Sister Maureen Hel-
en (Dalton). of Marian Villa,
London visited during the past
week with her brother, Dennis
and Irene Dalton and visited with
her many friends in this area. She
was driven back to London on
Friday by her hosts and they
stayed over night with their
daughter Frances and Arnold
Marsman and family.
The second metric workshop
was cancelled due to the illness of
the instructor, David Zyluk.
Edward Sinnett of the "S.S.
Gulf Canada" visited during the
past week with his mother,
Yvonne Sinnett and family.
A large crowd attended the
estate auction sale of 100 acre
farm, furniture, antiques, car and
miscellaneous articles for the late
Robert C. (Bert) McWhinney on
Saturday, April 29. Although the
weather was cold, the bidding
was brisk. Congratulations to Mr.
and Mrs. Derk Logtenberg who
bought the 100 acre farm.
Approximately 50 Kingsbridge
residents of all ages representing
different groups in the area
attended a meeting for Recrea-
tional Development of the area on
Monday, April 24 in St. Joseph's
School at Kingsbridge. Guest
speaker, Mr. John Wilson, from
the London branch of the Ministry
of Education spoke on "Commun-
ity .Schools" and "Grants". A
Community School Association
Executive was chosen. The chair-
man is Clete Dalton and youth
co-chairmen are Mary Luanne
Clare and Bernie VanOsct4. Other
members are: Paul Dation, Jim
VanOsch, Diane VanRooy, Betty
Frayne, Dave Zyluk, Emma
Franken, Bernardine Kinney,
Clarence Doherty, John Austin,
Joanne Menary, Rita Howard,
Clarice Dalton, Tom O'Keefe,
Joanne VanOsch and Rochelle
Champagne.
ST. JOSEPH'S SCHOOL
St. Joseph's School, Kings-
bridge will be representing its
zone in Huron -Perth Soccer on
Saturday, May 13th in all five
divisions. Last year the Senior
and Junior girls captured top
honours while the boys from St.
Columban took those two troph-
ies. This year a primary division
has been organized.
