Mrs. Walter Black, Mrs-. Stan,
Blackwell and Mrs. Jack McGuire
were in Listowel last Thursday
and visited with Mrs. Henry
Howe.
. Mrs. Oscar White spent a
couple of days visiting her son
and daughter-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Bert White and family of
Birr. She returned home on
Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Timms of
Toronto spent the weekend with
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Blackwell and
children.
Bill Black of London spent last
week with his parents,. Mr. and
Mrs. Walter Black, as he was on a
surveying job down at the lake.
Miss Nancy McGuire of London
spent last week with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Jack McGuire. She
returned to London this week for
exams at University.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Black
received word from their son,
David, of Vancouver that he is
working for. 6 weeks on an
Archaeology project in Port
Hardy on Vancouver Island.
David is a student at the Simon
Fraser University in Vancouver.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bennett and
family of Burlington spent the
weekend at their summer home
here.
A number of people from this
area attended the reception on_ _
Saturday evening in Ripley for
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Walden
(Shirley McCreath), who were
married that day. Congratulations
to the happy couple.

The Holyrood Women's Institute held a euchre party at the Kinloss
Township Hall on April 11 to raise funds for the hall renovation. A
draw for an afghan made by Eva McCulloch, Lucknow, was won by
Mary Eadie, Holyrood. Shown with the afghan hanging in the
background is the Institute's incoming president, Mrs. Alec Percy,
and past president, Mrs. William MacPherson.

Lucknow Village CoUncil has engaged the
services of an Animal Control Officer.
Effective Saturday, April 1, 1978, any dogs
running at large will be considered as strays and
will be dealt with under bylaw 1978-50.
Licences are now available at the Municipal Office.
