Mrs. Sadie Barbour of St. Helens stayed with Mrs. Ben McClenaghan while Mr. and Mrs. Carl McClenaghan were at St. Thomas. Quite a few from here attended the maple syrup festival ' at Belmore. There were 14 in attendance at the final pot luck supper and euchre _ party held Thursday evening at the home of Mildred McClenaghan. On Wednesday last Mr. and Mrs. Carl McClenaghan attended the funeral of Mrs. Lattirrier at Woodstock, mother of Mrs. Des Roches, who lived at the former Mirehouse house on the 2nd concession. Mrs. De Koeyer of Blenheim, wife of the late past pastor Mr. De Koeyer, who was stationed for a few years at Bluevale and White- church, visited here on Friday, having dinner with Mrs. Agnes Farrier, and in the afternoon, Mrs. Lorne Durnin held Open House for the members of the church where quite a number came to call. Mrs. Ivy Smith of Hamilton visited Sunday with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Tom Davidson and Tommy, Christine and Tammy. Callers on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Coultes were Mrs. Miller of .Palmerston,_ Mrs. Rae Lewis of Wingham and Mr. and Mrs. Bill.. Empey of Auburn. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Tiffin and Mrs. Bob Mowbray were at Pinecrest Nursing Home on Sunday to call on Mrs. John McIntyre of Wingham and later visited with Mr. and Mrs. George Tiffin of Lucknow. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Osborne, Laura, Anna and Bethany visited in Owen Sound on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Beattie and with Mrs. Roy Miller, a patient in Owen Sound Hospital. On Tuesday last Mrs. Ella Johnston and George Grigg visited with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Johnston and family of St. Pauls. On Monday Mrs. Johnston and George Grigg of Wingham were callers on relatives at Clinton, Egmondville and Seaforth. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Rintoul on Sunday had Mrs. Hazel Purdon of Lucknow to celebrate her birthday and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Rintoul, Gayle and Brian. On behalf of the village a warm welcome is extended to the newcomers who moved into the John Jamieson apartment on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Brian Falconer, Sarnia, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Milligan and with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mowbray. Mr: and Mrs.- Fred Tiffin accompanied Wilford Clipperton to Thamesford to visit with Marg Cousins. Mr. arid Mrs. Bill Evans visited on ' Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Maulden and family of Kinlough. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Forster, Wendy and Gary, , Lucknow, visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Elliott and family. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Laidlaw, Kim and Janet, visited on Sunday with Mr. and ' Mrs. Clarence Crowston and family of Chatham. Mr. and Mrs. John Gaunt were Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Peter Eijkl of *Dashwood where they were celebrating her parents, Mr. and Mts. Jim Gaunt's birthday$. Her grandpar- ents, Mr. and Mrs. Mel Mathers • itechurc were also. present, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Laidlaw, Kim and Janet visited with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Moore and family in Wingham on Sunday to celebrate the wedding anniver- sary of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kerr, Bluevale. Mr. and Mrs. Kevin 'Elmes and son, Keith, of Scarborough Bluffs were weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs. John Moore and family. Whitechurch Water Works meeting was held April 12 in the Community Memorial Hall. The president, Bill Evans, presided. The minutes were read by secretary, Mrs. ?ave Gibb, and the financial report given by Mrs. Bill Gibson. An application for water was received from Mr. and Mrs. Garry Chapman to have water installed on the lot where the buses used to sit, south of the United Church. Folks on the water system were reminded when the water goes off that they keep their taps closed so that no air gets in the system.
