Carol Buchmeier works at a wood lathe in the shop at Lucknow
Central Public during the Open House and Achievement Night at
the school last Wednesday evening. The senior girls work in the
shop for three weeks during the winter term. Gord Cayley, shop
instructor, says he is amused by the schools who are just starting to
allow the girls to take part in shop courses. He started his shop
program for girls when he taught in Oakville eighteen years ago.
