All members were in attendance, with Reeve Lyons presiding. The minutes of the February and March meetings, as well as two special sessions, were read and adopted on motion of Councillors Foran and- Hickey. Two Police Village trustees attended the meeting to request Council to order sufficient culvert lengths to install on the hill at the westerly edge of Auburn to provide more efficient drainage. The road superintendent agreed to order the necessary pipe. Five tenders received for the crushing and hauling of 'A' gravel were opened and consid- ered. Motion..- Councillors Foran and Stothers - "That West Wawanosh Township Council accept the tender of Bannerman Contracting Ltd., R. R. 4 Kincard- ine, at $1.15 and 95c respectively, for crushing and applying on township roads approximately 12,000 cubic yards; and stockpil- ing approximately 1,000 cu. yds. of 'A' gravel, subject to approval by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications. Carried. Two representatives from Mait- land Valley Conservation Author- ity attended the Council meeting, and presented to Council mem- bers the Authority's 'Fill Line Mapping' for the Township. After. explaining its purpose, advantag- es and use, the following motion was carried by Council: Council- lors Foran and Hickey - "That West Wawanosh Township Coun- cil accepts the Fill Line Mapping prepared by Maitland Valley Conservation Authority, and hereby agrees to have the maps registered by the Authority with the Province of Ontario." Car- ried. Ross Brindley attended the meeting to obtain Council's decision on approval of a building permit for the construction of a new sow barn on his farm lot on the edge of Dungannon. After very lengthy discussion and consideration, motion by Council- --.1ors Foran and Hickey "That Council approve a building permit for. Ross Brindley to erect a barn on his land, subject to the condition that Mr. Brindley obtain approval from the Huron County Health Unit for the proposed location." Carried. e Roy Robson appeared before Council regarding a severe water problem he has encountered at the back of . his farm, apparently caused by a beaver dam. The Drainage Superintendent report- ed that the beavers are not there now, and it was agreed by Council to have the dam destroy- ed. On a motion by Councillors Foran and Hickey, building permits were granted to Harold Menary (house) and Eric Stewart (addition). A tile drain loan on Lot 24, concession 3, for $20,000 was approved by Council on motion of Councillor's Foran and Hickey. A resolution from Turnberry Township regarding the Huron County Board of Education's actions in regard -to the the current secondary school teachers' strike was filed. The Clerk was directed to write County of Huron' Clerk -Treasurer Bill Hanly, to the effect that West Wawanosh Township Council is in agreement with County -Wide Residency for, senior citizens. ■ Wednesday to Saturday, April 19.20.21-22- - PLEASE NOTE SHOWTIMES— Wed. This by-law outlin- es the extension to the Dungan- non Drain and provides for assessments therefor. Motion - Councillors Stothers and Foran - "Whereas West Wawanosh Township Council has received approval of the' . Town- ships of East Wawanosh and Hullett, •as provided in Section 256 (2) of The Municipal Act, to pay their share of principal • and interest falling due in any year of a debenture to finance the installation" of street lighting in the Police Village of Manchester; therefore, subject to approval by the Ontario Municipal Board to the installation of said lighting, West Wawanosh Township Coun- cil, under Section 256 (1) of The Municipal Act, apply to The Ontario Municipal Board to, permit the debt for the entire project to be incurred by the Township of West Wawanosh."
