Institute held a euchre party
in the hall on Tuesday
evening with seven tables in
play.
Mrs. Weir Eckenswiller
was high lady and Mr. Jack
Scott high gent,and the lucky
prize went to Mrs. Ellwood
Elliott.
At the next card party on
April llth the draw will be
made on the afghan. A large.
number of tickets have been
sold with the profit going
towards the improvement of
the Holyrood hall.
The April meeting of the
Holyrood Women's Institute
will be held on Thursday
afternoon, April 6th at the
home of Mrs 4 .Lorne Eadie.

Haldenby of Sarnia visited

Breckles' home. Mr. Arthur
Breckles (Sr.) returned to
Sarnia with them.
Mr. and Mrs. Garnet
Tinney joined their family at
Bancroft for Easter.
Word was received here of
the death of the late Herbert
Tweedy of Dunnville after a
lengthy illness. Herb grew up
`in our village but had lived in
Dunnville for a number of
years.
Mr. and Mrs. Ken Brown
and family of Brockville
visited Easter week with her
mother Mrs. Bertha
;Hakienby and other relatives
here.
Mr. and Mrs.. Lloyd
0, Johnston, Donna and Dennis,
con. 8 had an Easter family
gathering at their home.

Mrs. Arthur Haldenby went
on Sunday to Toronto to visit
with Mr. and Mrs. Howard
Bennett.
About 2 a.m. Sunday the
Lucknow Fire Dept. made a
hurried run to the home of
Mr, and Mrs. Delbert Hedley
and family where sparks
from the chimney had ignited
the shingle roofing on the
house. After all seemed under
control, the flames made a
second outbreak, which the
'Hedley men were able to put
out. We are sorry this had to
happen, but thankful they
saved the home and no one
was injured.
The Murray girls were at
the home of their late parents
during the week. Veronica
(Mrs. Keith McCarter).;
Eleanor .(Mrs. Lorne
Kraemer); Barbara (Mrs.
Douglas Schmid) ;Elaine
