Bruce South W.I. district directors meet
The District Directors
meeting of Bruce South
Women's Institute was held
at Kinloss Community Centre
March 28 with the Silver Lake
branch as host. Mrs. George
Fischer,district president and
Mrs. Gordon Wall, district
secretary conducted the
meeting. A letter was
received from the new
provincial President Mrs.
"Clarence Dymond. It was
*voted to send Mrs. Gordon
Wall to Officer's Conference
in May with alternate to be
Mrs. James Convay, Ass't
Secretary to the district.
Mrs. Wall gave the report
of the board meeting in
Toronto which, Mrs. Frances
Middleton) Board member of
F.W.I.O.attended last
December. Mrs,Howard
Thompson gave the report of
the area convention held in
1977. President Mrs. Francis.
Gemmell brought greetings
from the Grey Bruce Area.
Mrs. Douglas Kennedy gave
the Bruce County Tartan
report in the absence of Mrs.
Gladys Arnold who was not

celebrate 50th anniversary
An open house was held on
Wednesday March 22, 1978 at
,the Pinecrest Manor Nursing
Home in Lucknow, wherrMr.
and Mrs. 'Walter Roulston
celebrated their golden
wedding anniversary.
The couple were married
on; March 22, 1928, in Arkona
Ontario by Rev. Edgar
Roulston, the groom's
brOther. Mr. Roulston is the
fifth in a family of eight
children to celebrate a 50th
wedding anniversary:
Mrs. Roulston is the former
Catherine MacDougall,
daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Colin MacDougall of the
fourth of Bruce.
Mr. • Roulston is the son of
the late Mr. and Mrs.
Johnston Roulston and was
born on the 12th of Huron. He
moved at an early age with
his parents to a farm on the
second of Huron and the
young couple took up
residence there following
their marriage.

Mr. Roulston and his son,
Gordon, still live on the same
family farm while Mrs.
Roulston is presently a
resident at Pinecrest Nursing
Home.
The couple have another
child, Mary, Mrs. Robert Orr
of RR 4, Kincardine and two
grandchildren, Dale ' and
Donna Lee Orr.
Friends and relatives were
present to help the couple
celebrate the occasion.
