park was filed until further
particulars are received.
Council supported a
resolution from the County of
Grey. "That the Ministry of
Education be asked to con-
sider restructuring the
present system of local
Boards of Education to
make the system more
responsive to the people."
Permission was (granted to
the road -superintendent to
attend the C.S. Anderson
school in Guelph in ' May.
Road accounts of $9009.11 and
general accounts of $25,814.67
were approved for the
payment.
At the March 20,1978
meeting, the following ten-
ders were accepted subject to
the approval of the Ministry
of Transportation and
Communications.
.22,000 cu. yds. of crushed
gravel, $1.39 per yd on roads
and 2,000 yds. stock pile at4,80
cents to Joe Kerr, Wingham.

delivered at 39 cents per yd
for the first mile and 10 cents
per yard mile additional to
Joe Kerr, Wingharn.
-7,000 gals. of road oil to Can
Am Industries at 30.7 cents
per gallon,
-115 flake ton of Calcium
Chloride to Pollard Bros. at
$96.50 per ton.
-41/2. miles of double surface
asphalt treatment on side
road 9-10 W.D. to Saugeen
Spraying Co., Durham, Ont.
at approximately $10,780. per
mile.
-1300 tons of hot mix asphalt
at Dungannon Bridge to Lavis
Contracting at $16.99 per ton.
A motion was passed to pay
Ross Eedy $100. for damage
done to a land packer by snow
removal equipment in 1977..
.A resolution was passed for
a proposed road expenditure
of $302,844 in 1978 and a
request was made to the MTC
for a supplementary
allocation of $27,313 of sub-
sidy money.

SUGAR BUSH
The Maitland Valley Conservation Authority has recen-
tly opened a modern sugar bush operation for the pur-
pose of demonstrating maple production methods. In
order to develop interpretive displays and to demon-
strate historical production methods, the Maitland
Conservation Foundation is requesting donations of'a
wide selectionof maple artifacts.
Items of interest include wooden buckets and
gathering equipment, early tapping devices, old style
spiles, sugar kettles, flat pans, etc, Receipts will be
Issued; all Items of appreciable value may be claimed
as charitable donations for income tax purposes.

Kinloss Township Council met
on Monday afternoon of March
6th with reeve, Barry Johnston,
and all members present.
By-law number 16-8 was pas-
sed to rezone part of lots 51 and
52 concession 1 from agricultural
to extractive industrial (m-3).
First and second readingwas
given to borrow funds for the
Hartemink drain and court of
revision for the drain is to be held
in the clerk's office at 9.00 p.m.
April 3rd,
The clerk was instructed to
write to Robert Symes informing
him that council has no objection
to his changing his licence from
Fleet Station to Class "b".
Over thirty tenders were rec-
eived from advertisements placed
in newspapers. These were
opened and awarded as follows
subject to Ministry of Transporta-
tion and Communication approval
to: Pollard Bros. , for calcium
chloride at $91.00 per flake ton
applied to roads; Joe Kerr Ltd. for
crushing and spreading approx-
imately 14,000 cu. yds. of gravel
at $1.52 per cu. yd. and stockpil-
ing at $1.00 per cti: yd.; Robert H.
Croft to load and haut pit run
gravel at 43c per cu. yd. for the
first mile and 5c more for each
additional mile; Tom King . Limit-
ed for heavy 'machine rental at
$32.00 per hour for dozer 'and
scraper.
The following not subject to
M.T.C. approval were awarded
to: Wayne,. Bushell for backhoe
work in the township at the rate of
$20.00 per hour; Graham Cook for
.levelling and covering at the
municipal waste site at the rate of
$30.00 per hour.
A motion by Eckenswiller and
Clarke that we accept the fill -line
mapping of the Maitland Valley
Conservation Authority and that
we agree to the registering of the
maps with the Province of Ontario
was carried.
General Accounts of $46,885,
which includes $23,964 school
tax, and $10,400 for tile drainage
and highways account for $10,249
were passed for payment.
At a special meeting on March
20th a majority of the residents on
concession 2 west were present to
discuss the rebuilding of their
road this year and consequently a
motion was passed to pay the sum
of five dollars per rod of fence
allowance for" new construction.
"•" Council is in agreement with
Culross Council in opposing 'an
open deer season in that part of
the Wingham District, port" of
#86, 87, 88 highways (Amberley
to Mount Forest).
The services of Ken Voisin for
spraying , for warble grubs -in
township are to be provided at 40c
per cattle beast and he will collect
his own fee.
First and second reading were
given to a by-law to appoint a
Chief Building Official to enforce
provisions of the Building Code
Act of 1974.
A by-law was passed subject' to
M.T.C. approval restricting the
weight of vehicles passing over
certain bridges in the township.
When finalized, load limits will be
posted.
A donation to the Bruce County
Ploughmen's Association of
$100.00 and $50.00 to • the
Salvation Army were approved.
Of five motions received from
other townships in the province,
council endorsed the resolution of
the Township of Otanabee which
is extremely concerned about the
exhorbitantly increasing costs of
heating fuels and particularly
furnace oil. Quote: - whereas it is
apparent that such increases are
inconsistent with controls applied`
to income and; - whereas those
persons living on fixed incomes
are particularly hard pressed
financially to meet the need to
heat their homes and; - whereas
unlike such products as gasoline,
heating fuel is a necessity to all
persons including those on fixed
incomes.
Applications for tile drain loans
are to be in the clerk's office by
April 28, 1978 and beginning
April 1st the township waste site
will be open every Saturday.
Council adjourned until April
3rd.
