Mrs. Elma Reed and Girvin
attended the Ferguson -Eadie
wedding at Pine River on March
17.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Moulton - of
Simcoe visited his father, Frank
Moulton, and Mrs. Lillian Mac-
Donald qn Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Larry Pentland
and family returned home on
March 11 after a two week holiday
in Florida.

family of Mrs. Theresa Draper
whose funeral took place on
Sunday from the McCallum
Funeral Home.

Mr. Jim Rivett has been
promoted to assistant manager of
Standard Auto Glass in Goderich.
He spent Wednesday in Toronto
touring the main plant there.
Miss Ruth Schmidt of Tavistock
visited on Sunday with Mrs. Mary
Bere and Jamie.
Miss Glenda Park is spending a
few days this week in London with
Karen Bere.

• W.I. DESSERT AND
EUCHRE PARTY
Dungannon Women's Institute
sponsored a dessert and euchre
party at Brookside School on
March 17 when nineteen tables
were filled, After everyone had
enjoyed sampling the delicious
variety of pies at the smorgas-
bord, the tables were cleared and
they played euchre. Winners
were as follows: high pink card,
Mary Bere; high white card,
Bessie McNee; second high pink,
Winnifred" Farrier; second high
white, Frances Worsell ;loiv pink
card, Yvonne Kerr; low white,
Peg Purdon. Winners of lucky
draws were Helen Stothers,
Maitie Little, Goderich, Louise
Howes.
Peg Purdon acted as auctioneer
to auction off some pies and a
Maple Leaf quilt made by the
lades of the W.I. the quilt was
not sold by auction as no bid
reached the reserve bid but it was
sold after to Mrs. Maitie Little.

The local Orange Lodge held a

card party in their hall on Joseph
Street on Friday evening, March
17, with nine tables full. Winners
were ladies' high, Adeline Allen;
second, a tie between Bertha
Olson and Beatrice Nivins, Mrs.
• Nivins got the prize on a draw of
cards; low, Bessie McNee; high
men's, Herb Finnigan; second
high, Toxn Young; low, Duane
Rivett. The Lodge will hold
another card party at the hall in
two weeks, on Friday, March 31.

THANKOFFERING -
Mrs. Ross Shiells of Lucknow
was guest speaker at the Spring
Thankoffering meeting sz) Dun-
gannon U.C.W. in the church on
Sunday evening. She spoke on the
Resurrection and the -new life.
Guests were present from Trinity,
Auburn, Christian Fellowship and
Auburn congregations.
The Christian Fellowship ladies
sang two duets. Mrs. Willetta
McWhinney, representing Nile
U.C.W., gave a reading, The
Legend of the Easter Lily. Six
ladies from Dungannon put on a
skit, Women of the Cross. Mrs. ,
Debbie Culbert sang a solo. Mrs.
Amy Wiggins and Mrs. Gloria
Pearson enacted a skit, If God
Should Speak.
Lunch was served in the S. S.
room with the West Wawanosh
ladies as hostesses.

UNITED CHURCH
,Rev. C. G. Westhaver preached
his sermon on, "Behold", on
Palm Sunday. Mrs. Gordon
Finnigan played the organ. Mr.
Derk Lotenberg was inducted as
an elder.
Rev. Westhaver is prepared to
bring the communion service to
the home for any elderly or
handicapped members, if he is
made aware of any who would
wish this.
On Tuesday at 10.45 a.m. Rev.
Westhaver will conduct .a com-
munion service at Pinecrest
Manor in Lucknow.

The Palm Sunday message was
based on The triumphal entrance
of the Lord into Jerusalem.
There will be a Good Friday
Communion Service at 10.00 a.m.
Easter Sunday begins with a
Sunrise Service at 7,00 a.m. to
which the community is invited.
Regular services will be S. S. at
10.00 a.m., and church service at
11.00 a.m. The message at that
service will be, "He is Risen".

Many of the classrooms were
involved in special activities
connected. with St. Patrick's or
Easter during this week before
the Winter Break. Mrs. Ander-
son's Room 11 had an Easter Egg
Hunt on snowshoes in the school
yard. Mrs. Tebbutt's Room 3
painted Easter Eggs in'their own
designs, real boiled eggs. Mrs.
Graham's Room 9 had hot dogs
for lunch on Wednesday.
The Student's Council provided
a film, "Mustang Country",
which was seen by the student
body on Thursday.
Most of the students took the
opportunity to go skating on
Tuesday. They were taken by bus
to the arena in Lucknow and taken
home from there by bus, after an
hour on the ice.
