On Tuesday Mr. and Mrs.
Archie Purdon and family visited
with Mrs. Webster Jacklin of
Listowel.
Miss Kathy Purdon of Blyth
visited Sunday with her parents
Mr. and Mrs. Archie Purdon.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Campbell
of Kitchener who spent holidays
in Nassau, Bahamas visited this
weekend with her parents Mr.
and Mrs. Bill Rintoul and on
Sunday Mr.d Mrs. Leonard
Robinson and Mark of Belgrave
also visited with them.
On Friday evening Mrs. Doris
Willis and Mrs. ~George Webster
presented Mrs. Helen Schultz
with a going away gift of a lamp
from the Whitechurch Card Club
and close friends.
' Mr. and Mrs. Herman De
Bruyn recently arrived home from
New Zealand where they visited
:.for several weeks with Mrs. De
Bruyn's 7 brothers and 3 sisters
and Mr. De Bruyn's brother.
Ma,xy..De Bruyn and two little
Hawkins girls of Kingston are
spending holidays with grandpar-
ents Mr. and Mrs. De Bruyn.
Mr. and Mrs. Hugh McMillan
of Watford spent the weekend
with her parents Mr. and Mrs.
George Tiffin of Lucknow and on
Sunday Mr. and Mrs. McMillan
and Mrs. Tiffin, who was
returning home with them for a
week's' holiday, visited with Mr.
and Mrs. Wesley Tiffin. .
Mrs. Helen Schultz on the
weekend vacated her home and
moved her household goods to
Tillsonburg, where she has , ob-
tained an apartment.
Carman Farrier and Miss
Winnifred Farrier of Toronto
were Friday callers on Mr. and
Mrs. Lorne ;purnin. --
Mr.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ducharme of
Goderich and Mrs. Paul Laidlaw
of Windsor were Sunday visitors
with Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Laidlaw.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Bushell of
Kinlough were recent visitors
with Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Laidlaw.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl McClenag-
han on Sunday visited with Mr.
and Mrs: Moss at Plattsville
where Mrs. Ben McClenaghan
had been visiting the last 2 weeks
and Mrs. McClenaghan returned
home with them.
Sunday visitors with Albert
Coultes were Mr. and Mrs.
Wilbert Schwichtenberg, Lori and
Kerry of Port Elgin, Mr. and Mrs:
Jack Coultes and family of Blyth,
Mr. and Mrs. Alex Craig, Lana,
Ryan and Jarret.
Clayton Scholtz and Kenton of
Goderich were Sunday visitors
with Mr. and Mrs. 'Lorne Durnin.
Kenton remained for a holiday
visit.
Mrs. Paul Laidlaw of Windsor
spent the weekend with her
parents and in-laws here 'and
Karen Elliott, Mrs. Laidlaw's
sister returned with her for a
week's holiday.
Sunday School begins on Sun-
day, April 2nd at 10 a.m. at
Chalmer's Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Gordon Elliott, Mrs.
Galbraith and Mrs. Jean Aitchi-
son of Wingham were Sunday
vis4ors with Mr. and Mrs. Walter
Elliott and family.
The village extends a warm
welcome to Mr. and Mrs. .Little
and family oT Goderich who on the
weekend moved into the home
formerly owned by Mrs. Helen
Schultz and the late Dalton
Schultz.
Ken Laidlaw of Lucknow visited
on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Mowbray.
On Sunday at Chalmer's Pres-
byterian Church communion serv-
ices were held with Rev. H.
Nugent of Ripley in charge. Mr.
Harvey Osborne had charge of
the service- at Ashfield and
Ripley. Mrs. Osborne and family
accompanied Mr. Osborne. and
visited Sunday afternoon with
Rev. and Mrs. H. Nugent.
Those attending the sale of
Mrs. Helen Schultz at Lucknow,
report a good sale with good
prices.
Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Emerson,
Darlene, Sharon and Brenda of
St, Catharines spent the weekend
with Mr. Viand Mrs. Victor
Emerson.
Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Durnin of
=West Wawanosh on Sunday
visited with Annie Kennedy of
Wingham.
Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Emerson
of St. Catharines visited Saturday
evening with Mr. and Mrs. Angus
MacDonald and family of St.
Helens.
Mrs. Wallace Milligan on
Thursday began employinnt at
the Home Care Centre in
Wingham.
Mrs'. Bill Evans returned home
on Tuesday from Florida. Mrs.
Evans and Mrs. Ed Walker were
met at Toronto airport by Mr.
Walker.
Mrs. Harvey Osborne on Tues-
day evening sponsored a Tri
Chem Liquid Embroidery class
for an attendance of 9 with Mrs.
Bonnie Hutchison, demonstrator,
in charge.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rintoul
arrived home on Tuesday from
Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Purdon
who had accompanied them to the
south remained at Chatham with
their daughter,_ Mrs. Donald
Gaunt, Mr. Gaunt and Jennifer.
Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Milligan
spent the weekend with Mr. and
Mrs. Brian Falconer of Sarnia and
their daughter Clara, who is
visiting there with her, sister,
Mrs. Falconer.
Mrs. Harvey Osborne, Beth-
any, Anna and Laura accompan-
ied Mr. Osborne back to Toronto
on- Sunday evening where they
will visit at the home of her sister,
Mrs. George Hood, and Mr. Hood
and family. Mr. and Mrs. Hood
will go for a few days visit while
Mrs. Osborne looks after th5
family.
CHALMERS PRESBYTERIAN
W.M.S.
On March 15, the Chalmer's
Presbyterian W.M.S. meeting
was held at Mrs. Alan Falconer's
home. The leader, Mrs. • Wallace
Milligan, opened the meeting.
Mrs. Bill Rintoul read an
Easter poem and Mrs. Don Ross
accompanied the hymn sing at the
organ. Mrs. Angus Falconer read
the scripture and Mrs. John de
Boer read "Rules for Lent". Mrs.
Alan Falconer read a short story
and Mrs. Wesley Tiffin read a
poem. Mrs. Milligan gave a talk
on what people expect of God
when in trouble and what they are
willing to give in return. The
offering was received and dedi-
cated by Mrs: Victor Emerson.
Mrs. Milligan gave ' the topic,
Great Easter Words, and led in
prayer. Mrs. Osborne closed with
prayer.
President, Mrs. Bill Rintoul,
presided for business. The min-
utes were read by Mrs. Victor
Emerson. Belgrave Presbyterian
Church invited the group to their
Thankoffering meeting on April 6
and Teeswater invited them for
April 7. The next meeting will be
held at the home of Mrs. Bill
Rintoul. Mrs. Milligan presented
the group with a good supply of
coloured wool to be made into
things. Refreshments were serv-
ed.
