On Sunday Dan Tiffin celebrat-
ed his birthday. To assist with the
celebration were Mr. and Mrs.'
Douglas Tiffin and family, Mr.
and Mrs. Bevin Tiffin and family,
Joyce Tiffin of Toronto, his
mother, Mrs. Orville Tiffin and
Mrs. Ethel Stewart of Wingham.
Dan received several cards and
gifts.

Mrs. McMillan and Charlie
Leaver recently attended the
Horse Show at Toronto.
Mr. and Mrs. Carman Haines
of Wingham on Sunday visited
with Mrs. Earl Caslick.
Miss Colleen Adams visited

home from London Hospital on

Miss Lisa Scholtz, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Scholtz 4of
Goderich, visited last week with
her grandparents, Mr. and Mis.
Lorne Durnin, prior to leaving,
this weekend for the position of
Counsellor for the Retarded at
Red Deer, Alberta.
The village card party was' held
Monday evening at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Tiffin with
three tables in play. The next
party will be • held Tuesday,
March 21st at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Russel Chapman: Note

The 4th meeting of White-
church 4-H Twirling Bobbins was
held on Monday. evening at the
home of Mrs. Archie Purdon:-he
president, June Alton, opened
the meeting.
The roll call was answered by 7
members_ naming two things.
They would ask the sales person
when shopping for clothes or
fabrics, and to wear something
from their clothes closets that
they' hadn't worn for a long time
and explain why. '

Mrs. Walter Elliott discussed
clothing and the. consumer and
suggestions for satisfactory
spending. Mrs: Purdon discus-
sed being ready to make the
blouse and demonstrated stay
stitching, darts and gathers.
Group Work was to stay stitch on
the blouses.

Whitechurch Women's 'Insti-
tute held their Curator meeting
on Wednesday, ' March 8 at the
home of Mrs. Victor gmersonf.
The meeting opened with the
president, Mrs. Russel McGuire,
presiding.
The secretary, Mrs. Rena
Fisher, read the minutes and
gave the financial report. Many
who received Valentine boxes
sent letters of thanks and some
enclosed donations.
It was decided to sponsor the
Outdoor Living if the leaders
found the group wished to have it.
No one wished to go to the Folk
School. It was decided to sponsor
the Birthday Party at Brookhaven
Nursing Marne in March, and in
April at Pinecrest Nursing Home...
A concert will be sponsored by
the . W.I. in.. the spring. The'
Stanley products will be .demon-
strated at the April meeting.
The Curator, ,Mrs. Emerson,
told of the death of Rev. ' James
Richard Graham, 90, who died at
Sunnybrook Hospital, November
6. His first pastorate was in
Whitechurch, Ontario. He served
in the ministry 61 years and is
believed to " be the longest on
record. As the topic, she gave For
Home and Country from the book,
Women'of the Wilderness, which
is a series of talks delivered over
radio station CFOS, Owen Sound.
Mrs. Fred Tiffin told of the song,
When You and I ; were Young
Maggie: Mrs. Dave Gibb told of
the blacksmith shops in the early
days and Mrs. Don. Ross told of
the Grandpas of the early days as
told by an eleven year old girl.
Theroll call was answered
naming the bell you liked or
disliked most in childhood. Lunch
was served by Mrs. T. Metcalfe,
Mrs. E. Johnston and Miss Merle
Wilson.

weeks holidaying in Daytona
Beach in Florida.

Needham last week.

Jerry Breutigam of St. Catharines
visited with Mr. and Mrs. Dick
