Mr. and Mrs,, Sandy Rytter of Wheeler Street, Lucknow, have arrived home from two months in London, England. Mrs. Rose Jewell, Lucknow and son W. Sturgeon, have -returned BROWNIE NEWS , The Lucknow Brownies held their meeting ' on Wednesday, February 22nd in the Town Hall. The meeting began with two games after which Julie Davies, Tammy Stone, Carol Fergiispnt , Julie Clarke and .Brenda Davies passed their tests for throwing a ball and catching it. Fair Queen, Julie Davies, placed the toadstool for Brownie Ring. During Brownie Ring, Brown.Owl, Lloya Nicholson, told the girls that -this week's collec- tion would go to The World Friendship Fund which helps Brownies in other lands. • During Pow Wow the girls were told that it was Thinking Day which is thebirthdays of the founders of Guiding, Lord and Lady Baden Powell. A " birthday- cake irthdaycake with five candles on it was brought out with Tammy Stone, Julie Davies, Lisa Barger, Julie Clarke and Brenda Davieseach lighting a _candle for the four corners of the world and the founders. Mae' Raynard then told about . Brownies in France after which Donalda Thompson told about Brownies in China. After Pow Wow each girl had a piece of birthday cake. The meeting closed with the Squeeze. home from two months in Yuma, Arizona. 3. J. and Lynne Houston, Toronto, visited on the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Houston, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Houston and Amy, at Holyrood. rs. L. C. Thompson, Luck- no , visited last weekend - in -P Bramalea with fir. and Mrs. Rod McFarlane. Also visiting with .them was Mrs. Ron Rothwell of Norwood and Mr. .and Mrs. Barry Neilson of Toronto. Pam Agnew, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Agnew, Lucknow spent a study week in Cuba. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Ferguson, R. R. 4 Ripley, wish to announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter Anne, to Mr. Douglas Eadie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Eadie, Holyrood. The marriage c-eremony will take place at 5 .o'clock in Pine River United Church on Friday, March 17, 1978: Mr. , and Mrs. Duncan Thor - burn of Arnberley announce the marriage of their daughter, Judith Ann, to Neil John Mac- Kenzie, son of Mrs. Rhoda MacKenzieand the late enry J. MacKenzie. The MarriagT took place at fine River United Church on February 24, 1978 with Rev.. Robert Putman the officiating _clergyman. The couple will reside on the groom's farm at R. By TheSentine1 THAT Ernie "Twink" Vaughan of Loreburn, Saskatchewan, who played for the Lucknow Intermed- iates .between the years of 1948 and 1951, was third for the Elbow Curling Rink which won the Senior Canadian Curling Champ- ionship in St. Thpmas last week. The Saskatchewan •rink played eleven games winning ten to take the championship. During his winters in Lucknow, Ernie worked for A. & McKim in the drugstore. Ernie and his wife, Vye, visited with Army and Tillie Wilson of Lucknow over the weekend. THAT Tommy and Rosemary .
