BY HARVEY LIVINGSTON, COACH
WISHFUL THINKING
NOT ENOUGH
On Friday; February 10th, the
Milverton Four Wheel Drives
were defeated by the Lancers 9 to
4. The large number of fans that
turned out for this game were
shown the type of good hockey
this team is capable of playing..
However the "next three games
displayed the type of hockey that
belongs in the bush league. .
On Sunday, February 12th, the
Lancers visited Port Elgin and
once again came home with their
tails between their legs. The
score was 11-4 for Port Elgin.-.
The Lancers went by bus to
Fergus on Tuesday, February
14th' and suffered defeat again .to
the tune of '12 to 7' for Fergus.
Sunday, February 17th the
Lancers hosted Wingham Royals,
losing 5 to 4. The belief seemed to
be .that Wingham would be a
pushover because of the sound
defeat the Lancers had previously
given them and also because
Wingham. is presently at the
bottom of the league; Lucknow
stands in second place for the
time being.
If the Lancers continue losing
they can say goodbye to second
place and hello to first round of
playoffs with Port Elgin. In order
to maintain second spot, the team
has to pull up its socks and start
to display the type of hockey they
are capable of.
The remaining three games of
the regular season will be played
on the road, and we would like to
take this opportunity to thank the
fans for their loyal support.. A
team could. not ask for more. Of
all the towns the team has visited
this year, there ,has been no
comparison to Lucknow and °area
fans.
Playoff schedule will .appear in
the Sentinel in the near future
