The first meeting of the
Dungannon 4-H Club, held on
Saturday at the home of: Mrs.
Marie Stewart, opened with the
repeating of the 4-H pledge. The
leaders of this club are Mrs. Jean
Errington and Mrs. Marie Stew-
art. The election of officers
resulted as follows: president,
Irene Martin; vice • president,
Debbie Kerr; secretary, press
reporter, this office to be held by
each member in alphabetical
rotation.
The Activity Period, It's Your
Life, included .pointers for emo-
tional health. The next meeting
will be on Saturday, February 18
but after that the meetings will be
every other Saturday. The girls
were told that M.P.P. Murray
Gaunt is to attend a 4-H meeting
in Carlow Hall on February 20, at
700p.m. and the meeting is open
to other clubs.

Grade 5 and 6 Volleyball scores
were: Red Devils 19 vs Sky Hawks

The boys hockey score this
week was Sharpshooters 7, . vs
Bombers 0.
For the past week pupils from
Grades 1 -• 8 have been saying,
their speeches or poems, in their
Own classrooms in preparation for
the competition in th,e auditorium
in which the best two or three
from each class will take part.
The Student's Council purchas-
ed some snowshoes for the school
which the youngsters have, been
using at recesses and noon hours
and some Phys-. Ed, periods.

A euchre party is being -held at
Brookside School on Wednesday,
February 22nd at 8.00 p.m. to
raise money to buy more snow-
shoes in hopes we may have
enough to have a class set.
Parents and friends- are cordially
invited to attend.
Bonnie Henderson from Grade
4 2 was injured at school daring- the
week and chipped her two front
teeth.
Miss Viadne ,Tresize and Mrs.
Mary ,Bere attended a Workshop
at Clinton Public School on
Saturday morning conducted by
Mrs. Pearl Cassel, author • of the
book, Discipline Without Tears,
which was also the topic of the
Workshop. Mrs. Cassel is an able
• speaker with a wealth of experi-
ence ,and it was a morning well
spent, giving much food for
• thought and ideas for improving
classroom routines and relation-
• ships., If a parent group were
looking for a speaker some time,
Mrs. -Cassel would be an excellent
choice.

Mrand Mrs. Thos. Webster
spent a couple of days last week
visiting their4 daughter, Lois, and
family, Mr. and Mrs. Ken
Thomas of Bolton.
Mrs. W. A. Stewart visited
with Mr. and Mrs. T. M..DUrnin,
Dunlop, on Saturday while' her
daughter, Mrs. Gwen Caesar
attended the teacher's Workshop,
"Discipline Without Tears", in
Clinton Public School.
Mrs, Bessie McNee had two
crib quilts in the frames last week
and they were finished with the
help of Mrs. Edna Campbell,
Mrs. Evelyn Errington and Mrs.
Elsie Irvin. There are two more to
do for the UCW to give to local
hospitals so if any of the ladies
are interested in quilting they
might give Mrs. McNee a call to
see when she plans to get them in
the frames. _
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Johnston
returned home on Thursday after
-an extended stay in Wingham
Hospital.
Harold Errington returned to
Wingham Hospital on Thursday
after suffering what is believed io
be a heart attack.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Berry
returned to their mobile home in
the villageon James. Street about
two weeks ago. Mr. Berry has not
been in good health and was'
down to London to see a doctor on
Tuesday, then later in the week
was in Goderich Hospital but got
home on Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Ken Ohm and
•family isited Mr. and Mrs. Clair
Hodges and Karen in Stratford on
Friday.
Sunday visitors with Mr. , and
Mrs. Harvey Culbert were their
family, Bev and Ken Ohm: and

Clinton,•
Mrs. Geordie Rivett 'observed
her 81st birthday on Thursday,
• February 9. Local members of her
family gathered at her home on
Friday evening for a get together
, to mark the occasion.

The February meeting of the
UCW will be held on Tuesday,
February 14, at 1,30 p.m. at the
manse beginning with a Dessert
Luncheon. The program is on
Christian Development.
Copies of the annual report (as
corrected and completed) are
available at the back of the
church.
Choir practice will be held on
Thursday. at 7.00 p.m.
Hi -C meets at Nile on Sunday
evening at 7.30 p.m. Young
people from Dungannon are
invited to attend and share in the
meeting. •
A Communicants Class will
begin its session next Sunday at
6.30 p.m. at the Dungannon
Church, Those who are interested
and have not already done so are
asked to contact the minister.
DUNGANNON CHRISTIAN
FELLOWSHIP CHURCH,
The M.Y.F. met at the home of
Murray Martin on Friday evening
with 16 young people present.
They had a number of spiritual
questions to which they were
seeking answers. By means of a
discussion in which most of• the
young people participated, and
with the help of the sponsors,
they arrived at a better under-
standing of ,the issues involved.
The Children's Bible Club held
a toboggan party on Saturday
afternoon on the slopes in West
Wawanosh. A group of about 30
met at the church afterward for
refreshment and singing.
• The Adult Bible study group
will meet this week on Tuesday
evening at the home of the pastor.
The church group will meet on
Saturday evening of this week for
a family fun time; taking the form
• of a skating party at the Lucknow
• Arena.
• Pastor Lawrence's message on
•Sunday morning was a continua-
tion of the Beatitudes emphasiz-
ing, "It was pointed out both of
these were difficult to be but the
blessings gained were 'well mirth
the obedience on the part of man.
