C. Johnstone; R. R. 5 Lucknow, and• Peter Brian Hare, son of Mrs. Martha Hare, Listowel. Rev. Armstrong, Wing. ,,. ham, officiated at the donrble ring ceremony. M The,bride, given in marriage by her father and mother, looked lovely in her floor -length gown of white jersey knit, featuring schif- fli lace—yoke and neckline', embroidered with , Venise lace trimmed with beads and A-line 'empire waist line: Her fingertip veil( of silk illusion was held by a Julian cap with daisy beadwork and Venise lace matching her dress. Daisies trimmed the bot- tom of. her veil. A chapel length train fell from her shoulders. She carried red silk roses. Matron . of . honour was Joyce Anne Hewitt, sister of the bride -9f R. R. 2 Kincardine, who wore a red crepe dress with matching jacket trimmed with red malabou fur. She carried a white lace basket filled with ' rid and white silk roses. Bridesmaids ' were Shirley Hare, Kitchener, sister-in-law of the groom and Janet Whytock, friend of the bride, Lucknow. Their dresses and flowers were the same as the matron of honour. Flower girl was Angeline Hare of Stratford, niece of the groom. Her dress 'was -'made of white jersey knit, with Victorian neck- line trimmed with red lace. Her flowers were similar to the bride's. Ringbearer was Kevin Hewitt, R. R. 2 Kincardine, nephew of the bride. e O Groomsman was Harley Hare of Kitchener, brother oft the --- groom and ushers were Murray Hare'of Stratford, brother of the groom and. Murray Johnstone of Lucknow, brother of the bride. They wore black tuxedoes. Organist was Mrs. Donalda° Moffat and soloist 'was Dale Haldenby. A reception fallowing the wedding was held in the Lucknow Legion Hall. For her daughter's wedding, the bride's mother chose a tropical blue formal gown .with matching cape, trimmed with Malabou..fur around the neck. Her corsage was white roses. The groom's mother chose a navy blue suit with corsage of white roses. For a wedding trip to Niagara Falls thebride chose .a three piece beige tweed pant suit • with matching brown. accessories. Brenda and Peter are residing in Kitchener. where the groom -is- employed as a bricklayer with Kappeler Masonary. Bruce n About 175 registered . nurses and registered nurses assistants flooded the teaching . area of tlae ,Kincardine -and District General Hospital Monday evening for an open discussion of the proposal made by the College of- Nurses relating to the withholding of certificates of competence. The proposal by theCollege' calls for registered nurses and registered nurses assistant _ to work at least 50 days in any one year of the previous five to qualify for a certificate of competence. The new requirements are plan- ned to take effect in 1980. . A letter expressing the views -of both groups in ' the Kincardine area will be sent to. the. College of Nurses. This letter was signed by 65 women, others are encouraged to write individual letters to the College as well as MPPs William' Davis, Dennis Timbrell, Murray Gaunt, Stewart Smith and Steph- en Lewis. Over 100 of those women in attendance Monday night also registered with the Nurses United for Registration Security and Employment organization (NURSE), based in London, - Ontario. . Those present . agreed the ,proposal, of the college was "undemocratic, unrealistic, un- justified and discriminatory".
