On Friday, March 3rd, all
ladies are invited to the World
Day of Prayer service for this.
area, to be held in the Anglican
Church. The service for this day
was written by Canadian Women
as it marks 60 years since it first
began. This is a very special'
year. The theme is "Community
Spirit in Modern Living". The
hymn, "As children of.. one
Father", was written by Ron and
Kris Klusmeier, a young Canad-
ian couple who were asked to
write a new hymnfor the Women
of the World. These joyful young
Christians felt privileged to have
this opportunity.
We extend sympathy to Mrs.

Shawn McEwan, son of Mr.

underwent surgery on Friday in

The Anglican Church Women
met on Thursday atthe home of •
Mrs._Roy Collins beginning with a
delicious smorgasbord dinner at
noon.
The president, • Mrs. Delbert
Hedley, welcomed everyone on
such a beautiful winter's day and
opened the meeting with a Lenten
prayer.
Mrs. Gertrude Walsh read- a
scripture passage.
Mrs. Ronald Thacker read the
minutes and the correspondence
'which included letters of thanks
from the St. Monica House Bale
and replies from sick, bereaved
and shutin members.
This year our A.C.W. marks its
65th anniversary and a generous
gift . was received from a dear
`friend in loving memory of her
late mother -who was the—first
president . when it was first
organized as the Women's Auxil-
iary (W.A.) which carried on until
1969 under that name .and since
that time it has gone under the
new name, of Anglican Church
Women (A.C.W..) .and takes in all
women of the congregation.
The conveners, Mrs. Howard
Thompson and Mrs. Eric Thacker
then took over, 'with the latter '
presiding. The meditation was
given by Miss May Boyle giving
us food for thought in looking
backwards, and looking ahead
with faith.
Mrs. Eric Thacker, from the
part in the Lord's' Prayer which
says, "Give us this day our daily
bread", distributed writings from
the Bible, pertaining to bread.
Those taking part were Mrs.
Howard Thompson, Mrs. ' David
Haldenby, Mrs. 1Roy Collins, Mrs.
Gertrude Walsh, Mrs. Delbert -
Hedley, Mrs. George Graham,
Miss May Boyle, Mrs. Roy

with the theme "Love'', prepared
a poster showing the function of
the human heart and , explained
how important it is to each one of
us.
