Friday and Saturday with his
parents Mr. and Mrs. Harry
Osborne and family of Markdale.
Saturday, visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Wesley Tiffin were- Mrs.
Phyllis Henderson, Listowel, and
her daughter, Mts. Grant Wolfe,
Kelly and Craig of Port Elgin.
Mr. and Mrs: Brian Falconer
were accompanied here by his
sister, Lynn Falconer, who visited
with her grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Mowbray, while Mr.
and Mrs. Brian Falconer visited
with her parents, Mr. and- Mrs.
Wallace Milligan. Mrs. Brian
. Falconer went on to Streetsville to
visit with her sister, Mrs. Pat
Donnelly, Mr. Donnelly and
fami'.v .
Mrs. Harvey Osborne, Beth-
any, Anna, and Laura attended
the La .Lecke League meeting at
Seaforth on Wednesday.
The community will be happy
to learn that Mrs. Gordon Rintoul
was able to return home from
Wingham Hospital on Wednes-
day.
Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Emerson,
Darlene, Sharon and Brenda of
St.. -Catharines spent the weekend
with ' Mr. and Mrs. Victor
Emerson.
On Friday near noon Albert
Coultes was going south up the
street when he saw steam. and
smoke coming from the roof of
Carl Weber's home. He quickly
summoned Mr. and Mrs. Lorne
Durnin, Dawson and Alex Craig,
while Mrs. Alex Craig notified the
Lucknow Fire Department, who
arrived in a few minutes. They
found the fire was in the upstairs
and attic above the kitchen. The
contents of the ' upstairs were
prettywell burned. 'The firemen
said they had arrived just in time
to save a real fire. Mr. and Mrs.
Weber were at Stratford, having
left iri the morning and Clair
Weber was:,a high, school.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Purdon on
Sunday visited with Miss Barbara
Purdon, at Kitchener and their
-other " daughter, Mrs. Donald
Gaunt, Mr. Gaunt and baby,
Jennifer, of Chatham would also
visit with,,.. Barbara-.
Mr. and Mrs. Alan Falconer
and his mother, Mrs. Angus
Falconer, visited Friday evening
with Mr. and Mrs.. Archie
Montgomery of Blyth.
Mr. and Mrs. Eric Evans of
Hyde Park were Sunday visitors
with his parents, Mr: and Mrs.
Bill Evans, arid her mother, Mrs.
Mayme Donaldson of Brucelea
Haven, Walkerton.
On Sunday Mr. and Mrs.
Orland Irwin, Faye, ' Steven,
Donald and Michael, Mr. and
Mrs. Clayton Alton, Ann ' and
Lynn, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Laidlaw,
Janet and Kimberley, held a
Toboggan party on the ..hill at
Irwin's farm and had hot lunch
after at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Ivan Laidlaw.
Mr. and Mrs. Cameron Sim-
mons of London were here on the
weekend with Mr. and Mrs.
Lorne Durnin to determine the
repairs needed to -their property,
the former Kennedy property,
damaged by fire on Friday.
Whitechurch card party was
held at the home of Mi. and Mrs.
Lorne, Durnin Monday evening
with six tables in play. The next
party will be Monday evening,
February 20 at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Tiffin.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Parker and
Jenny of Huron Park and Mrs.
Eileen Parker of Exeter were
Sunday visitors with Mr, and
Mrs. Carl McClenaghan and „Mrs„
Mary McClenaghan.
