Celebrates .92hd. birthday
Alexander (Sandy) MacLeod
who served on the Lucknow
Council for 18 years and as Road
Superintendent of Kinloss Town-
ship for 18 years celebrated his
92nd birthday at the Pinecrest
Manor on February 1St.
Mr. MacLeod who has been a
resident of Pinecrest for the past
year said that his only wish is that
he could still live with his wife of
62 years. His wife, Ada; who is
84, is unable to care for -him and
• lives in the Senior Citizens'
" Apartments in Lucknow. She
visits with Sandy twice a week but
would visit more often if she could
walk the distance from the
apartment to Pinecrest.

Cathy Lorraine, to Mr. Murray A.
Button, son of Mrs. Lorna Button
and the late Wm. Button of
Lucknow. The marriagels to take
plaCe on Saturday, March 11,
1978 at 3.30 p.m. in the Lucknow
Presbyterian Church.

When asked the secret of his
happy marriage, Mr. MacLeod
answered quickly with a gleam in
his eye, "We lived happy '
together. One understood the
otheran& every morning I would
throw my arms, around her and
hug her."
• born in 1886, Sandy was raised
on , the second concession of
Kinloss, one of eight sons and a
daughter of the late. John and
Evangeline MacLeod. He has one
brother, Frederick, living in,
Detroit, and his sister, Clara
Nixon lives in Lucknow.,,

he could see his shadow we
should have six more weeks of
winter.
Mrs. Don Wall and baby
daughter Karah Danielle return-
ed home from Wingham Hospital
last Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wynne
spent the weekend at their farm
home on the eighth of Kinloss and
had their• family there for a
weekend of winter sports in the
country.
Bob and Agnes Bregman
attended the Milk Producer's
annual meeting and banquet held
in Walkerton on February 2nd.

The Young Peoples with pres-
ident, Marty Young; secretary,
Donald de Boer; vice president,
• Barry Elliott; and treasurer,
David Ross held meetings every 2
weeks with average attendance of
46. They sponsored a child
through Christian Children's
Fund of Canada. •
The Sunday School operated
from April 1st .to November 30
with teachers Clara - Milligan,
Vicki Scott, Valetta Emerson,
Lorie Purson, Kathy Purdon,
Karen Young, Barry Elliott;
superintendent, Walter Elliott
and secretary -treasurer,- Agnes
Gaunt.
The meeting closed with prayer
by Rev. H. Nugent.
Mr. and Mrs. MacLeod have a
daughter,, Grace Hodgkinson who
lives in Wingham and a son.
Lawrence, a resident of Lucknow
who spends his winters •in
Florida. They have two grandsons
and three great grandchildren.
• Sandy farmed on the second
concession of Kinloss for 35 years
before moving into Lucknow 29
years ago. He served as secretary
treasurer of S. S. # 7, Kinloss
school for several years and in
several capacities on the South
Kinloss Presbyterian Church
