The Lucknow Sentinel, 1978-02-08, Page 161. Page 16,Lucknow Sentinels Wednesday, Feb. 8, 1978 Director appointed to student employment program Orval J. Ketcheson, Manager of the Canada Manpower Centre in Walkerton, has announced the appointment of Mrs. Judy Rise- brough as the Director of the Summer Employment Program. Mrs, Risebrough will assist in the planning and development of , the activities and operations of the Canada Manpower Centres for Students in. Hanover and . Walkerton. . It is hoped that again this year -service will be extended to the Kincardine area, as well as partial service to other centres such as the Durham. Chesley, Paisley and Liicknow areas, however this will depend on the resources 'made available. Mrs. Risebrough will be work- ing from the Can4daManpower Centre in Walkerton until the student offices open, approxi- mately the first of May. She can be reached at the Canada Manpower Centre, 881-2010, During the coming weeks she will be visiting local employers to solicit jobs for students as well as accepting registrations from stud- ents who wish to find employment this summer. Last year the Canada Manpow- er Centres for Students found over. 500 jobs for students in the southern part of Grey and Bruce Counties. „ • It is the support of the local employers and communities .that enable the summer program to be a success. If they continue to support the program as they have in the past by hiring a student, for a day, a week, or the summer, we are confident that the program will again be successful. , The homeowner is a very potential employer, as students are capable and willing workers at such jobs as shovelling snow, cleaning up yards, helping with spring clean- ing, bal3ysitting, to name only a few.
