Mr.. Laverne, Martin was taken
to Wingham Hospital on Saturday
morning where he is recovering
from a severe bout of the flu.
Mrs, .Lawrence has been "un-
der the weather" for the past few
days with the flu. ,
Congratulations to Clair and
Bonnie Hodges of Stratford on the
birth of a daughter, Karen Joy,. 7
,lb. 2 -oz., on Friday, December 23,
1977 in Stratford General Hospit-
al, a granddaughter for Ken and
Beth Hodges° and Eldon Culbert,
Dungannon. .
Jack Culbert is in r Goderich
Hospital suffering from a collaps-
ed lurig.
Mrs. Russell. Johnston "was
taken to Wingham Hospital on
Saturday. Y.
Mr. and Mrs. ,Jack Errington
have been quite miserable all
week with the flu.
Mr. and Mrs. 'Robert Kay and
.Candice visited on Christmas with
Robert's mother, Mrs. Shirley
Kay, in Clinton and with Mrs.
Kay's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Don
McKee, ' Benmiller.
Mr: and Mrs. Irwin Storey and
family spent christmas with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Soloman,{ R. 3 .Wingham.
Ladies' 6.30 bowling in Ldck-
now was cancelled last Monday
evening because of stormy
weather.
Mrs. -Joy Vella and- Tammy .of
Seaforth called on Mr. and Mrs.
Graham McNee and Mrs. Ross
McNee on Sunday.
Kathie and John Stanbury
visited with Mr. and 'Mrs. John
Park and family on Sunday.
Gerry and David Bere returned
home on Friday evening after
spending the week in London with

Mrs. Chas. Fowler is getting
around now with the aid of a
walker- and, moved on Thursday

The'first school day of 1978 was
quite stormy and since Bus 3 and
Bus 7 were not there and several
were absent from the other buses
it was rather an unprofitable day
for teachers and students. How-
ever, things got back to normal on
Wednesday.
Mr. Howard Blake, the indis-
pensable secretary, was sick on
Thursday. He was back to work ,
on Friddayeven though he still was
not feeling well.
There is a high incidence of
,colds and coughs throughout the
school. °

With the approach of the Inter-
national Plowing Match at Wing-
ham keen interest has prompted
the Plownien's Association to
sponsor two 4-14 Sodbuster Clubs
in 1978.
Reporting the highlights of the
1977 International Plowing Match
at -Kingston, OPA Director Jim
Armstrong said there was in -
.creased public interest" in field
plowing: The Huron County
presentation will be a highlight of
the OPA convention to be heldin
Toronto on February 13 and 14;
1978.

Pastor and Mrs. Lawrence on
Wednesday afternoon. There will
. be no meeting of this group this
Wednes°d'ay but they will resume '
regular weekly meetings on
Wednesday, January 18th.
An .Adult Bible Study .Ymeeting
will be held regularly on Tuesday
evenings at 8.00 p`.m. in ' the
basement of the Christian Fellow-
ship Church. The first meeting
will be on Tuesday, January ,10.
