A great Christmas sur- prise was enjoyed by the Chisholm family, when Jack Chisholm, son of Alex Chisholm and Lynn Chisholm, from Strathmore, Alberta paid a five day \,isit to family and friends. Jack returned to Alberta on Dec. 17, where he has been employed by Thiessen's, owner of a large feed lot, since he went west in June. UCW President Jean Errington with Holiday Traditions welcomed 16 members and friends of the Dungannon/Nile UCW to a noon pot luck lun- cheon, held in the church on Dec. 10. Rev. Alex McGilvery shared recollections of his tenure 14 years ago in Labrador - hospitality was the key word. Christmas readings were presented by Beth Rutledge, Helen Nicholson. Last week the Grade 7 and 8s went to Clinton high school for a fun filled day of Tech 21. Every day that our group ,from Brookside spends at Tech. two people are entered in a year-end draw for $100. Last week Amber Fisher and Robbie Moir were chosen to be 'entered in the' draw. This week we hold our annual carol sing in the gym first period. right after morning announce- ments. on Tuesday and Thursday. Every holiday, on the last day of school we watch a movie. This year on Friday, we are going to he watching Free Willy. last -'week Mrs.. Clarke rBrooksiT i Broadcast (our librarian) started a chess club. They will he playing chess against other- students in ,schools in our district using e- mail. An overwhelming amount of students signed up for the chess club; which meets at lunch recess once a week. All grades of students who know Mrs. 1)otois are unhappy to see her leaving.. Mrs. Dotois is leaving for tweo months.. and all of us will miss her greatly. Mrs. (filbert will he filling in for her duties as the 6/7 teacher and the senior science teacher. Grade .,side Public School presented Stifle t . (German) as their contribution to the an!1ual Christmas concert. This year's theme was Christmas Around the World. (Hilgendorff photo) with a biblical exercise by Donna Young. Collection was directed to the Family Service Bureau. Christmas cards and United Church calendars were sent or delivered to shut-ins. Donna Hayden lit the Third Advent Candle on Sunday, Dec. 15, under the direction of Rev. Phillip Gandon. Welcomed to the service was four day old Gerrit Andrew, infant son of Gerry and Kay Logtenberg. Gerrit arrived on Dec. 11, and was greet- ed by sisters Megan, Carrie Lynn ancj brother Derek. Consumers with peanut allergies are also warned not to eat the following products: Hard Body Chocolate Flavor Amino Bar (71 grams), Hard Body Vanilla Flavor Amino Bar (71 grams), Hard Body Energy Bar, Pineapple -Coconut Yogurt Coated (71 grams), Pro - Sports Protein - Carbohydrate Energy Bar, Vanilla Flavor (59.5 grams), Pro -Sports Protein -Carbohydrate Energy BAr, Chocolate Flavor (59.5 grams). All of these products contain peanut ingredients which are not declared on the label. These products are imported from the USA by Nutrition Zone Products Ltd. of North Vancouver, B.C. They are widely distributed across Canada. Consumption of the products is of concern only for those who are allergic to peanuts.
