ITER hearings start this month by Pat Halpin Environmental hearings on the proposed ITER pro- ject are slated w begin this month. Saugeen Reeve Harry Thede told Bruce County Council, that the Pickering and Bruce sites will he assessed independently. Public hearings are tentatively scheduled for late December or January, and Thede urged county and municipal councils to turn out and show their support for the project. Organizers believe it is important for residents to take the time and attend this meeting. The annual Carolfest will 'take place next Wednesday evening. Kinloss council saw the county line (Bruce and Huron) as an insurmountable harrier and withdrew from those first talks. "It's a sot of extra work to cross boundaries," said Lucknow Reeve Stuart Reavie. "It's pretty complicated." Lucknow Councillor "Finn Pegg agreed it may he more difficult to do four.
