Future of the radio - Mr. Edison says "the radio
is a failure, so far as music is concerned. It is, he
says, good for news and for reports of ball games and
political conventions. But the distortion is too great.
After the novelty has worn off, the phonograph will "
reclaim its own."
Warning - Doctors in Lucknow have been con- ,
suited by a patient whom they believe has Small Pox.
The public should be on the watch for any symptoms,
and consult their physicians without delay. -

December 6, 1945
Move firetruck-The fire truck and all other
equipment is now housed in the new fire
hall on Main street, adjoining the Rex
Theatre. The truck was moved from the Town Hall
on Monday evening when the Brigade held their
December meeting.
The hew' fire hall is a prohibited area and anyone
trespassing or "borrowing" equipment from the hall
:will be dealt with severely.
Showed group of steers at provincial fair - The
Qntario Provincial Winter Fair was held at the Union
Stock Yards, Toronto. Mr. W. E. Henderson of
Lucknow sold his lot of steers at 16 cents a pound to
Moranz packing Company, Montreal. In attendance
from here were W. E. Henderson, Jack Henderson
and Tom Todd.

rringtons remain secretary- treasurer
Members of the Lucknow Agricultural Society
held a dinner at the Mayfair Restaurant in
Lucknow recently, to honor Ross and Elaine
Errington in appreciation for their 10 years service as
secretary treasurer of the organization.
The Erringtons had decided to resign their posi-
tions but have consented to stay on for another year.

longer can we be compla-
cent, no longer can we
