Dear editor:
I would like to address
the issue of smoking in
the arena complex.
As a parent of a hock-
ey child .1 go to the arena
quite a bit to watch the
hockey games of, differ-
ent teams. Most parents
who smoke either go out-
side, or to the little de,i'-
noted area below the
sound rout l to smoke 1n
this area they I;a\,e tin
cans to put your ciga-
rettes out in.
When, I attended a r
Saturday night)game of
the Lancers (Senior B)
there are a number of
Lucknow fans who chose

to partake of smoking in
the bleacher area.
There is a sign as you
go. out to the bleacher
area that asks that you
please do not smoke in
the
the bleachers. Our
bleachers are madee of
wood. If ,,a ,cigarette
somehow did not get put
out properly we could
see smoke or fire damage
to our new facility and
that would be a shame.
I realize there is not a
no smoking bylaw in
Lucknow but it would be
nice, to see these smokers
go to the designated area,
the blue line club upstairs
when it is going on, or go
}outside if they have to
have that cigarette while'
the game is going on.' It
would not be nice to have
,to have a bylaw banning
smoking to stop this as it
would cover all functions,
in town.
Please be nice to our
complex and smoke in
proper areas.
